Shame, Ant was improving and think he could do better than Barnet, All a bit convenient he was on England C duty? Another reason to dislike the dislikeable Fairclough even more.Probably another tribunal job but the England C call up might get us another grand or two. 8k would be ok and a sell on.
Good luck Ant, hope it works out for you but that we beat you twice.

Situation re: Fairclough and England C needs immediate investigation. Lets hope we get a decent compensation fee, although they are usually a joke.
Good luck Big Ant. You deserve it. Na na na na na na na na na na na
Regarding replacements, I've always liked the look of Charlie O'Loughlin at Boring Wood. Great big knuckle dragger of a bloke but also a very very good defender. Be interesting to see who Daisy gets, as we need at least 2 more centre backs now.

Would imagine it will be young hungry players like Fraser and Ant were , probably from a League club when they get released next week. Didnt see many center halfs in BSS that i rated that much last season. As Jamie has got them training 3 days a week, it makes sense to sign younger players and get them really fit.

Stinks massively, u just know he would have been having words in Bermuda. Least we get some money and its a good move for ant, I think I heard or read Jamie say they had a few targets in mind to replace ant if he goes so hopefully they can do a job.
Any official confirmation from the Wings or Barnet? I think Jamie will be a bit disappointed, although he did say that Anthony had had a few good offers. We must insist on a favourable level of compensation and, most important, a reasonable sell-on clause.
From what I've been told Barnet had been watching Ant since we played Grimsby, must have seen him at least 4 or 5 times so it's no big surprise that they've come in for him.
Shame as he's improved no end over the last year thanks to Jammie
Not sure that Fairclough will have done anything wrong.....Ant was free to talk to whoever he wanted to....I get the feeling from the Daisy interview that he has someone lined up for/if Fraser or Ant went so I think watch this space.
Also it was interesting to read in the NLP that Fraser said that he wanted to get promotion AND go full time and he has done both with Welling....I guess he/they consider three mornings and 2 evenings as pretty much full time
So...await a signing in the next couple of days and I still think it will be Mark Arber
What Fairclough has done is not wrong, but morally questionable, and there is a massive loophole there that the 'bigger' clubs exploit. That is what leaves the sour taste.
Fairclough may have done everything above board in this instance, and there's plenty on their forum about how he's signed very few England C players in the past. The big difference now though is that Barnet are a non-league side again. I see it as a conflict of interests when he is able to have exclusive access to the cream of the non-league crop, and have a word in their ear if he wants to.

Now he was done this clubs will be less inclined to let their players join up with England C.
Yes agreed BUT how could you say no to a player....not sure WE could BUT the so called bigger clubs may do
Look....I think we have done REALLY well to complete the signings of the players from last years team...I am sure others had opportunities elsewhere and it is testament to daisy, the back room guys and YES to the supporters too getting them to stay
Loui Faz said that we are the best supporters and I think others think that too
next year when we will be under more pressure than we were last year is the time to prove we ARE the best supporters....getting behind the team even when things may be going wrong
Cant wait.....The jouney will soon begin
I feel that I will have to do some ' pre season pacing practice'.....it may be required next year!!!

A good rallying call Mark, but really it can be summed up in one word:
Sad to see Ant go, but four weeks ago offered the chance to sign all those we have and only lose Ant I think most would be happy. Daisy has done a brilliant job playing, coaching and managing, but more evident than ever is his ability to get people to buy into what he is doing and getting 95% of them to re-sign is excellent work.
The crucial thing is to make sure we do not go into the coming season with a squad that is weaker than we had last season. If so the result could be just the one season!
Well it certainly will not be weaker......I would think stronger again.....by adding two or three plus the strength of another season playing together.
The fixtures will be interesting as it would be good to play the teams that have had significant numbers of personnel changes early before they gel.....cant help thinking early points are the key
sad to see Ant go but as a club we cannot stand in his way to move to a so called bigger club, I am sure Jamie has a eyes on players he wants,
MarkX I think your right getting the points early on in the season is key, will be intersting to see who we have the first month or so into the season cannot wait for the fixtures to come out
