Pre Season form is awful, not beating Thamesmead has me worried. Think that things should be improving by now but we seem to be getting worse with each game. What are the problems? I don't like the idea of 2 inexperienced Centre Backs on loan, would prefer a couple of old pros to play with Fraser. Spine of team lacking Martin, Acheampong, Kinch looks a bit lightweight lacking a bit of muscle. Still think that Reid would have been a better option than Pires as I think he is too lazy and inconsistent. Still think that KHM is not up to this level, would have brought in a midfield enforcer with the budget. Just my opinions and the proof in the pudding will be from August 10th, but think we will struggle.
I thought first half we played really well, said Day, 33, who didnt play due to an Achilles injury picked up during the 1-1 draw at Conference South Tonbridge Angels on Tuesday night.
The passing was good, the movement was very good. I thought defensively we were sound. I dont think they had a shot in the first half so Im pleased with the first half performance.
Second half, when you make so many changes it probably has an effect on the game. We had five lads under the age of eighteen out and we needed to do that. Im taking nothing away from Thamesmead, but we needed to see if our youngsters are good enough to go into the first team.
When Jamie starts to worry then I will worry until then I will have faith in Jamie and his team
Its about game time and fitness more than performance, also not even the top clubs play the amount of games we have in a short space of time. I'd expect the performance level to increase at maidstone or bromley and increase from there.
I do slightly agree on the center back position, we have lost a lot of power and not to mention around 15goals with ant and Ben going. Bergvist looks small and im not sure about hudson, but i think its a bit early to be worrying about it..daisy knows what he's doing and im sure we'll be just fine.
They are pre-season friendlies .. in almost all of these games it's a different team each half .. sometimes this works , sometimes it doesn't
We had a great pre-season last year HOWEVER .. I (personally) am not concerned .. match fitness is what we should be getting out these games and a chance to view a few coming through the ranks to see how they compete , nothing more.
If we had finished today or got on the end of final 3rd balls they would have needed a cricket scoreboard, even though we didnt have many easy chances we could have scored a few.. We played some lovely passing today. If thats the way Jamie sets us up this season it will be good to watch. Just need to get the forwards scoring and bring on the season, i think that will come now as we are passing it and moving decent.

Like been said i don't think you can look to much into pre-season form. It's a time where you play around with formations, partnerships and try out new players etc.
There not naive Jamie and the coaching team, i'm sure come first day of season you will see a much better performance and standard of play.
