Results don't seem to be improving as the pre season gets to the end, instead we have failed to beat anyone who is any good and have lost to Bromley & Thamesmead who would should be beating easily even at this stage. Looks like scoring goals is an issue and still think that the team needs an experienced centre back. Think we will struggle to avoid relegation as team seems to have gone backwards since the end of last season.Don't know but will judge on first 6 games and hope I am proven wrong!!

Admittedly, things haven't been going our way lately. But the new players are being given their chance and they are needing their chance to gel into the team. Even though there is only 13 days until Wrexham, there are still three matches where they can develop and prove their potential.
The finishing has been poor in recent matches, but we have shown to multiple teams in the last couple of weeks that we can create numerous chances and we just need to learn how to put them away. If our finishing was better yesterday, we could have probably scored 5 or 6. Injuries are playing a factor too, waiting on Motty and Cumbers to return to the side. We shouldn't be worrying when our season hasn't even started. Calm down. There is still time, because We are the Wings!

Yesterday was so bad its unreal..results don't matter but performance does! Individual sloppiness yesterday, the players who were not on good form will know who they are and it is a must improve..which i believe they will. My one major concern is the teams we are playing against, not one of them is a bigger test!!! wrexham have played blackburn (2-2) tranmere (2-0) St mirren (6-1) and wolves they lost 2 1..that is a proper pre season!!! we've played a load of s##t that does not come close to the level we will have to be at in 2 weeks time, and what we got left saints 16 year olds, thurrock "i mean come on really" and leatherhead..not one serious test! The players can only play what's in front of them, but i think jamie day and the players have been seriously let down in terms of fixtures this pre season, and if their not ready to face wrexham that will be the reason why!

 Doom and Gloom,

They scored with their first chance caused by a defensive howler - best done in a friendly

We missed a penalty - best done in a friendly

We experimented with a different formation - best done in a friendly

We missed some golden opportunities late on - best done in a friendly

What strength sides did Blackburn, Wolves and Tranmere have out (Scottish club discounted as only 4 are better than Confernece standard)?

I thought the performance was pretty decent for large parts of the game and the 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 formation worked quite well at times. We have two quality full backs who both like to attack and this could be a formation that we adopt at different times during the season.

Yes we are missing chances but that happens to most teams while they are trying to gain their sharpness. All of our strikers have had knocks during pre season and may not have as many minutes in the tank as they, or the manager, would like. Yes we need to eliminate the mistakes at the other end but we have two new centre halves and have had to draft a keeper in as well and these understandings don't just happen overnight.

I remember wondering last pre season if Ross was going to be good enough for us in the BSS when the manager signed him and that didn't work out too badly did it!!

IN DAISY WE SHOULD ALL TRUST

I really dont think we will, Ive thought long and hard about it and its a huge step up back to a league we spent 14 straight seasons in. People will write us off and say we are a small club, Granted there are lots of other small clubs there. We have to be realistic and for that reason i really cant see us being in conference premier in 2014-15.

WE WILL BE IN LEAGUE 2 ... COME ON YOU WINGS, lets forget this negative crap and enjoy it and ruffle a few feathers. Its going to be fun, with no pressure on the players other than the pressure the management team will put on them by asking for everything.

I dont think Grimsby or Woking will be looking forward to playing us for a start.

I am not sure about League 2 JGFC. This season will be tough. We will lose a lot more games than we have been used to. I think we will survive and then build on that for 2014/15.

Patience will be the order of the day.

Bookies are confident we will stay up. We are 5/1 to be relegated.

Look at Jamie's record, even if we start slowly he is not the type of manager to shrug his shoulders and hope things improve. Maybe League 2 is as ridiculous as saying were in the **** as we havent battered everyone in pre season.

I think we will stay up and it would be nice to have a cup run in FA Cup as that can fund a club for years.. Stevenage, Crawley etc etc. FA Trophy i dont care about as the league is far more important this season. We have the players to do well but it would be nice to start quickly as the season will be easier if we do.

Looking forward and considering the improvements Welling has made as a club I think we will compete well in the BS premier.

We will have to except results will be harder to achieve but thats the better standard we are at now.

To kept the possitive attitude that Jamie sets as the example will see us do well this season. Im not saying we can win it but to try for the play offs is imo realistic.

Cant wait for the season to begin.

 Yes - have to agree.

This coming season is all about survival, & establising ourselves at this level.

Then in future seasons once that is in place, hopefully we can push for the top spots.

Although I agree about the part with it being about survival this season...but Loick said it best at Boreham Wood, on the lines of " The boys are of the same standard, if not, better than Dartford and Woking". And look where they finished.....

Pre-season means nothing. We beat a decent young Millwall side which seems to have been forgotten. Just get behind the team from day one of the season. I have NO doubts that the team and backroom staff will give it their absolute best and if they do that let´s see where it takes us come April. One thing I know is it is going to be great finding out andit´s better to be going to Wrexham than Whitehawk!

Or indeed Concord Rangers which whilst the locals were on the day very pleasant it was like a park game...you cant say that about the Racecourse Ground or Blundell Park (although Woking will be lovely....NOT!!!)

Pre-season results count for nothing really. We narrowly lost to Stoke City on Saturday, 0-1. Wolves, Blackburn, Tranmere and Stoke all fielded their first XIs. However, we lost to two Welsh Premier teams so as I said, these results mean nothing.

We had a great pre-season the year we got relegated to the Conference, drawing with Man City, beating Wolves amongst others.

Pre season games are set up to give players time to get as near match fitness as possible, and to try ideas that would be risky in competitive games.

Of those Ive seen there have been many possitive signs, but for a coulple of injuries, we have had a good preparation.

The injury situation is something that has to be addressed whenever they occur... it happens.

Lets hope Jamie can select his best starting eleven for as many games as possible.

I have a strong feeling we will be pleasantly surprised at how well we do.
