Chester FC have somehow signed Danny Higginbotham on loan for 6 months from Sheffield United.

This is a bit strange as Sheffield United had a only just given him a one year contract extension, and he was wanted by a few Championship clubs.

Most importantly, how can Chester afford his wages (even if part subsidised by Sheffield Utd)? Oh well, that's for Chester fans to worry about.

It'll be interesting to see how many other deals like this occur before the transfer and loan windows close.
