Shame a win would've put us in the playoffs which would've been nice but what a great season the lads are having. Top half (just) and still in the FA Cup, we all would've taken this postion if someone offered it to us at the start of the season.
COYW!
True. I'm very pleased with our current position but we won't stay there if the lads continue playing the way they did today.
The fitness and ability of the players isn't in question, it's their mentality and attitude. The way they switched off after the penalty was inexcusable.

That was a crap performance from the Wings. On reflection, my previous comments were neither generous to Nuneaton, who played us well, nor to the referee and I apologise to both. Nuneaton had some fortune from the referee in terms of unpunished challenges - apart from the penalty. Just a bad day for us. If we had been on our game, I think we would have posed far more problems for Nuneaton. Perhaps this is the kick up the jacksie that we needed?

nil nil at half time.
Not the best match.
Nuneaton are a very physical, well organised side. They've clearly done their homework on us, and Fazakerley and Lafayette have been crowded out every time the ball's near them.
Ref making odd decisions.
So glad I left 5 minutes early. Could see it coming.
I don't normally have any complaints about the lads (or leave early for that matter) but today they've been pretty sloppy and lacklustre for the majority of the game.
The referee's very 'suspicious' poor performance was no excuse.

I know they can't be on it 100% every week but today was really bad easily worst game this season, we have 1 player in particular who shouldn't even play Sunday league!!! Was a bit surprised by the subs..maybe barney for beautyman or even late on for guthrie and push gallagher and healy forward.
A frankly terrible performance both on the pitch and the terraces - I've heard noisier libraries.
Two major lapses of concentration. We let them back into it straight after the penalty, and for the winner it looked like all our players were paying more attention to the MOTM announcement.
I don't suppose there's any news on the injuries to Beautyman and Pires? Beautyman's looked like it might just be a tight hamstring, but Pires's one looked bad immediately.
If pires didn't have to run 20yards to make that challenge whilst others stood and watched he'd be ok...
Agreed, there were other players around who could more easily have made that challenge. Sums up the match really; too many players not on their game, with perhaps one or two exceptions.
Strange tactics from Jamie today. Usually, he is spot on - but why recall Barney to leave him on the bench when he could, as we all know, do a job at left back to free up Jake in centre midfield to add a much-needed combative approach to a game against a very physical side? Also, unless he is unfit, Jamie himself could have done great job today - thus freeing up a midfielder tired from a midweek match.
For me, I thought the commitment was there but we looked dis-jointed. I think Jake and Alex have been fantastic in front of the back four and we needed Gallagher there today. In hind-sight Barney was an option at left back but Jamie Day has to make decisions based on a lot more knowledge than I'm privy too.
Although I did think that the players switched off when the man of the match was announced. Maybe this could be broadcasted at a more appropriate time depending upon the position of the match. Let's hope for a speedy recovery for all our players out injured.
Yes, our expectations have been raised by how well the Wings have done so far. Jamie warned us that there would be matches like that on Saturday. However, if this team puts its mind to it, the Wings can give anybody a tough game. The news about Barney's illness probably does explain why Jamie kept him on the bench - I hope he did not infect the rest of the team! Also, I see that Luis and Connor were at the National Training Centre at the same time as a nasty stomach bug paid a visit -causing the England team to switch training venue.
