God forbid we create an atmosphere in the ground that will never catch on

As mentioned in other threads, they are a) incredibly annoying and b) it only encourages the team/supporters of the team we are playing against given we don't use them. For that reason, even if you have no objection, as a Welling fan wanting the best for Welling on the field, it is in our interest to ban them.

Anything is better than the current no atmosphere.

Humbug!

So having the cast of Stomp as half tine entertainment would be a no then?

So you'd rather the opposition gained encouragement and support?

I'd rather the no atmosphere and in doing so a greater chance of a Welling win.

If our fans wanted to use them to generate an "atmosphere" (annoying, monotonous noise, more like) then we already would, but the only instruments I've seen us take into games are inflatable guitars!

I can't stand some idiot banging a drum. The only drummer who was any good at a Football game was that Spanish bloke who was around years before anyone else did it. I personally can't stand the England team band and the rubbish tunes they play. I like the idea of a marching band like they have in American College Gridiron, that would be something.

I'd rather Welling fans created their own atmosphere at home and not worry about the opposition

If more supports joined in the songs then there would be an atmosphere

Yes! Yes! Yes! Please. Stupid drums give me a bloody headache!! Plenty of atmosphere can be created by songs and chanting, as has been proven at plenty of the games where annoying drums aren't involved. I suspect those who have drums only do so because they have no imagination to make up good songs. Bah humbug. That is all.

Drums yes, but a clarinet, harp or violin could be quite classy!

That is true. I only have a problem with the drums. I'd quite welcome a harpsichord...or a sousaphone...or a marimba...

Can't say I've ever watched a game and thought........."That team won because they had a drum in the crowd!"

So, the majority favour banning them, and I can't be the only one who left the game on Friday with a headache.
