The Fasttrack B bus from the town centre runs every 20 minutes on Boxing Day.  As for pubs The Wat Tyler is not due to open until 12 that day (I'm working on that), but The Paper Moon opens at 8am (if anyone is likely to up that early), and offers 20% off food before a Dartford home match

This Fastrack B info is wrong.  As posted on another thread they leave Home Gardens (outside Dartford Station) at 14 and 44 minutes past the hour.

Massive, massive games these.

I really dislike Dartford. Their fans are so arrogant calling us 'the villagers' on their forum. The truth is about 80% of them have only supported the club for 5 season's and they 've witnessed 3 promotions.

It is simply unfair that their council funds millions of pounds for a new stadium, including new bar facilities which can make them extra money, whilst our council gives us nothing- despite us paying a higher rate of council tax!

The amount of media coverage they receive from Radio Kent compared to us is a disgrace. The way we were treated at the play off final was a total insult to our club and was potentially dangerous.

They have always received proper newspaper coverage whilst we have only ever been a footnote in the local rag's who would prefer to pretend that Charlton and Millwall are in Bexley. And their drum is annoying!

I'm sure they do have some decent fans and I guess on balance it's better to have them around than not so that we have a proper derby match at this time of year.

But please, lads, give 110% in these matches. Show no mercy.

All I want for Christmas is 6 points from Dartford.

Nothing like a bit of local rivalry.  Don't take the "villagers" tag to heart (our ground is also called the "bus stop") take it as a compliment.  I am sure we also have some names for Dartford too - as do I after my experience at the play-off final!  But it is great that we have local rivals with a bit of banter - rivals we can have a few pints with before and after the game without any hassle. Don't forget, they went years as nomads without a ground - kept together by a dedicated band of supporters.  Much as I hate to give credit to a Tory council, Dartford Borough eventually did their local team proud - which is more than the Tory council up the road has done for us.

Yes, I hope we beat Dartford (although you just know Sod's Law will try to kick in) but I hope it does not help to send them down - we need them, I think they need us. Eventually, and this will really annoy people, can our immediate areas support two viable clubs?  And, sacrilege, would a merger be beneficial? Just a goodwill message at Christmas!

Part of me would like to be in the same league and develop a sustained rivalry with them and, of course, the revenue from matches against them. However a much bigger part of me is having a chuckle at their recent form and hoping we can inflict some more misery on them over the next week and a bit. If you haven't bought a copy of the latest WIE already then I can highly recommend it and you will see just how "friendly" our neighbours really are....

And as for a merger you can FRO and nip that thought straight in the bud!!

Tee hee, I knew I would get a bite! Sorry, arrived too early for the WIE seller on Saturday - otherwise, obviously and presumably, my response would have been more measured?

They can slag off our ground as much as they like, it served them well in the early nineties when they had nowhere to go.

Yes, I'm enjoying the rivalry and it's to both club's supporters' credit in recent years that banter doesn't get out of hand. In fact, there's a lot of Kent clubs around that that can be applied to (Fleet, Dover, Bromley, Tonbridge, etc.)

But there's more than a sniff of revenge in the air ahead of Thursday, not just the play-off final, but the penalty miss at PVR the season before last.

No let up, Wings!

Now coming from where I do, saying you come from the village means your upper class....

Richmond village, Wimbledon village , Ewell village, & so on, so feck them ...

As for the game, lets forget form & not get carried away, that run of 8 games has

to come to a end one day, lets get behind the boys from the start, & yes

" WE HAVE A **** GROUND,"

"GREAT TEAM...."

Dfc fan come in peace... I think you will find a lot of dfc fans have the utmost respect for welling and feel you have a good side. It was not long ago that some on the dfc forum were commenting they would love to have Jamie day and half your team. Boxing day and nyd will be tough for us we struggle to score goals. The dfc forum is a dfc love in nothing negative is allowed to be said or you get shot down, insulted and criticized. The majority of fans that are not happy don't post because of this but these fans are envious of wellings progress. Rivalry is always fun and the more intense the better. I hope we stuff you out of sight but most dfc fans are optimistic but realistic. See you all at pp

If you mean your own forum at least you haven't lost 9 in a row and almost certainly going down. Would imagine welling not got much to be worries about.

If you fancy making a few quid don't opt for the 12-1 on Alex Dyer for first scorer, or Pires at 11-1, nor the poor value M Ouani at 10-1.

Why not have a Christmas punt on Blaine or Fraser, both 33-1.

I realised that after your first message Paul. had slipped my mind. All the same, you do have to wonder who writes the odds for some of these games. Ok, its non-league, but to have someone who rarely features on the bench at 10-1 for first scorer, and then Fraser at 33-1, is madness. Blaine removed from the equation on this one, but I'm sure it'll be the same come Aldershot Saturday. If you bet on those two first scorer all season you'd be massively in profit surely.

Nice one Spills, and well done Blaine for agreeing to do it. Ask him some awkward questions as well please Spills ... i.e., everyone fit, Fraser, Doug, Blaine, which two? haha.

The pitch was terrible, as Jamie said in his post match interview Dartford handled the conditions better in the 1st half. But with that said it was not like Dartford played well, we just didn't get going and lacked any support upfront for Ross. Come the second half we got the ball into the box causing so much more trouble for the Dartford defense, and it was good to see Kurtis having so much of an impact.

After the first goal the atmosphere was electric and every attack seemed like we had the chance to score.

See you all at Aldershot.
