Does anyone know if they've suffered at all with the flooding that has hit much of Southern England? I know Godalming are having a bad time, and with Aldershot not being that far away I was curious to know if the game will be on?
At the moment there should be no concerns over the game tomorrow, unless the power goes off again. There has only been a light shower today and no flooding in the Aldershot/Farnborough area.
It is the other side of the A3 (Guildford, Godalming etc) where the majority of the flooding is.
Just checked the National Rail website and a couple of trains heading to Aldershot are showing as cancelled already.
As stated elsewhere, there are still some places left on the coach. If you're definitely going it might be worth messaging polo and taking the coach rather than gambling with the trains.
We need to watch their set pieces. Some of the best I've seen this season, but if we keep the ball on the deck ( which was useless on their ploughed field) we should beat what looked to me more like a basketball team. Lump it in the air and they will take us apart....
How many games has any Aldershot fan seen us play this season?
Our pitch is not a ploughed field.
We play good football not basketball and have just as many players under 6 foot as over.
We've been tagged a couple of times this season with long ball, direct style etc. But only from teams we've beaten! Dartford were at it Boxing Day saying we were average and 'only just better than them'.
I suppose all these big teams can't stand the thought that 'little' Welling can outplay and beat them. In fact, how dare we win games against other clubs.
Reminds me of how Woking were towards us in the 90s.
In the 90's we didn't play much Football but the team now is one of the better Footballing ones in the division, on one of the lowest budgets. Compare our pitch to Dartford's etc and it is also pretty decent. Hilarious sour grapes whenever we beat a full time team.
