Priorities I would suggest. Woking Saturday is a BIG match and we need to be full strength.
From what I can make of it the starting 11 included 5 Under 18's, 1 Under 16,and our reserve keeper and the bench was made up of 2 under 16's, 2 under 18's and Ade.

Its all going Pete Tong!! The special ones must Learn "The club are always right" "you CANNOT criticise the club IN ANY WAY" Ladies and Gentlemen i give you this from the Chief SO. I an waiting for WIE to swing full circle and criticise the playing performances, But no its been great hasnt it, falling to mid table obscurity after being joint top, (ala 1989). AAmbition, Ambition Ambition... Or lack of it. NONE of the Cup money (80k ish) has been reinvested in the team. The budget has seen players go to bring in new. Ever since the Manager said top half is great the players performances have dropped.
Russell old son.... You used to write about the Welling Disease... Have you worked out what it is yet?? Lets see if you have the balls to criticise the team and actions since we were joint top. If you have then i raise my glass to you.
As for tonight, i cannot believe the club did not tell those fans close to them it was the youth team plus Ibrahim, Rowland, Shearer, Pinnock, Moore, I did like Ades statement "I want to win every cup we go in Croydon 5 Welling 0 , Welling 0 Bromley 7,
Not impressed... The season is rapidly going downhill and YOU FANS expect the club to go for it next season? Have a word with yourselves!!
Pete Tong i tell you its all Pete Tong. (JgFc just knew he was right ... theres several people selling their soles here...)
WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE... Can people not see or are they scared of criticising the club?
The clubs line when they do not go for it next season will be ..
"We have run at a loss recently and its helped balance the books" BALLS you run to budget (still including very nice family wages) every season which is why the club always fights relegation.
Im waiting for them to say oh, last 16 of the trophy would be excellent.
I might go Woking to see Welling's last meaningful game of the season. (im also waiting for Welling to throwaway a few grand to try and fool the fans by bringing someone in. long after the morale has gone and form).
See Russell's Latest piece bellow. (From Winningisnteverything.net)
"
There's taking the piss and taking the piss and tonight comes into the latter category. £9 to watch the youth team plus Lee Shearer and James Pinnock. Not forgetting the ex-Northern Ireland international. Well worth nine quid of anyone's hard earned, that. No wonder so many regulars went next door to the pub at half time and didn't bother to return. I wish I'd joined them.
Where were Messrs Clarke and Carruthers? Both returned from injury on Saturday and are in need of games yet neither even made the bench.
These games get small enough attendances as it is; tonight's actions are hardly likely to improve matters. It's not as if the fans will have any faith that they will get value for money. So, when you ask those same fans to get behind the team at the next home game or buy a lottery ticket or join the Gold Bond, think about tonight.

And the blame lies solely with the Club, what is the point of entering these competitions if we have no intention of taking them seriously?? To put out a team consisting of only 2 or 3 first teamers and full of U18's who cant even compete in their own League is an affront to any Fan who turned up last night and to charge them £9 for the privalige is quite frankly a piss take!!!!!
There are clubs affiliated to the Kent FA who dont enter so why do we have to??? The club obviously dont take it seriously and for AP to say its a good experience for the young lads is completely wrong, all he found out last night was that we need a PROPER RESERVE SIDE or dont bother.
P.S. The Club, if it had any decency would offer half the enterance fee back to anyone who attended last night, they payed to see Welling United and they were obviously conned......
This club has been taking the piss out of (most of) the fans for decades
and, they should just say the county cups are for fringe and youth unless otherwise stated. Tell some poxy site no one visits (kentishfootball) 3 days before hand it will be a weak side isnt good enough. That is what the official site is for (and that is becoming another farce).

agreed - what a waste of money. In previous rounds we have played more first teamers - seems odd the furhter you go in the competition the weaker the team.
Look at the LSC match with Croydon. We were about to face 4 tough League matches in a 2 week period. Did we risk the first team?
There is a high profile Trophy game on Saturday and we are pushing to regain a playoff place. Added to that we have players we will need for those games, such as Kedwell, who are already carrying injuries. Did you really expect the first team to turn out?
I’ve no time for the meaningless County Cups and hence you won’t find me at any of the matches. As far as I’m concerned they have no value and are just high risk games in terms of potential injuries, and I have no desire to see our best players crocked however unintentionally.
I believe however that the Club should have made it widely known that we were playing a weakened side or better still declared upfront at the start of the season that County Cup commitments would feature youth team players.
There is more information about County Cups and you may wish to read my postings in the thread above.
As far as JGFC’s comments go I would offer the following
You’ve got the scatter gun out again – the Hobbins, lack of ambition, the budget, WIE/Russ, the website, fellow supporters - all under fire. The thread is about a LSC match.
I have never held back my views when talking to Barrie and more recently Graham. I would suggest that whilst they may not agree with views expressed to them they are receptive to supporters views provided that these are given constructively and without abuse (personal and otherwise.)
This match has little or no relevance in the scheme of the Trophy and League campaigns. Using it to support your view of the decline of late and your predicted continuing decline carries no weight.
Technically Ade’s statements that we go out to win every game including cup games may well be true in terms the team taking to the pitch – the problem is that the team may not be (and has not been on two occasions) the Welling United first team.
It has been publicly stated that WUFC made a loss last year.
Club officials are entitled to a salary.
If we lose to Woking in the Trophy we still have our League campaign and there could well be meaningful Play Off games to look forward to.
My view of the remainder of the season is that we desperately need someone to make the most of the goalscoring opportunities we have created in abundance but failed to convert in our recent games. If Pinnock and Stadhart aren’t up to it (and the evidence to date is that they are not) we have to look elsewhere. I still have expectations of a play off place come the end of the season but I’m not so confident that we will get any further in the Trophy and if we do that has to be a bonus.
