JoeBo did ok on Saturday, but you could see they identified him as the possible weak link within 5 minutes of him coming on, and focussed every attack down that side. I think he'd get found out if he was given starts at this level, but for a youngster he's been decent for us (and probably very cheap too).
Assuming Faz and McLaren are both out for the weekend (?) I imagine we'll see Mawson come in at centre back and Doug moved to rightback. Hopefully Barney will be on the bench to give us some cover.
I like Joe too, he is young and will improve no end I am sure, but as Mark said, he isn't Conference Premier standard I'm afraid, or likely to be in the short-term.
He has never been a first choice, last season or this, and I make our squad prior to today in excess of 20 players when only 16 can ever feature, so someone will always need to move on. Yes we have a lot on loan granted, but needs must with a small budget. After three incoming on Friday, outgoings this week were inevitable, and I'd like to know who people would rather move on than the three that have?
Well done Jamie on all the incomings, but also on the outgoings as a result. We're stronger now than we were a week ago, and we have players to come back in a month's time match-fit and ready to challenge for a start.

The one I should like to have seen go out on loan for a month or so is Luis Cumbers. I would like to believe that some concentrated match time would bring out the form we know he is capable of.

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.
He looked Conference standard at the weekend or else the bloke against him wasn't very good??
Strange timing unless one or both of Faz and Mclaren are not seriously injured.
Good luck to Joe and hope the other two players benefit from a month of regular football as well (weather permitting...!)

Totally agree I thought he slotted in really well and looked well up to Conference Premier level. Looked comfortable and confident on the ball. I wish him well.

He slotted in well yes, but if he was the standard he wouldn't then have left today. Young, and Conf Prem in the future if he follows his brother's lead.
And yes, the bloke against him on Saturday wasn't very good, and neither were Chester in general based on that one game.
Is Frankie Griffin still at the club? Not that I've ever seen him play I don't think
Who knows? Callum Webb signed for Canvey Island in January but I missed that announcement. Are Sam Corne, Josh Ekim and Barney Williams still Welling United players?

He only made one obvious mistake when not running out with the line and allowing a striker to get in behind the defence in the first half. He looked comfortable on the ball and it is handy to have a full back on the bench bearing in mind how injury prone our regular full backs are.

So which loanee is dropped from the squad? Only five are allowed in the sixteen on the teamsheet.
Given injuries at the back Mawson must come in ... does make you wonder who will miss out. Jamie hinted at some rotation in his interview after Chester.

Point 1: Yes, only one mistake. But that doesn't change the fact they targeted him - they could sense he wasn't as good a player as the one who just got subbed off.
Point 2: We have an abundance of forwards now and very few defenders. I'd bet vital parts of my anatomy that Mawson is in the squad at the expense of one of those.

I could n't agree more with this. 10-20 mins at the end of the match will do him no good at all. In my opinion we should be loaning him out to a club like VCD where he can play 180 minutes a week and hopefully bag a few goals.
