Why do we need to spend £50,000 on making the ground bigger and more toilets? We haven't had a crowd higher than 1800 and before we never got more than 3000 for a league game V Barnet and Maidstone I think. How are Gateshead allowed to participate in this league when they only open 1 stand and their ground is an athletics stadium and not a football stadium?
This league should be more concerned with some teams being unable to produce a playable playing surface for over a month, (Braintree no home game since 28th December), Dirtford's rubbish pitch that resembles a farmers field, surely being able to have a football pitch that can be played on is more important than how large a ground you have. Interesting to see that Maidstone have been told they have to dig up their pitch if they wish to enter the Conference South, I disagree and think they should be allowed to use it as it almost guarantees the game will go ahead always.
Are we ever going to get on BT Sport, this deal stinks and is anti competitive and most likely breaches EU competition law. The money should be split evenly between all 24 teams at the start of the season and every team should be shown at least once.
I think it is very unfair to single out Braintree Town, I gather they have wanted to improve their pitch which is clay based but have been thwarted. They also have plans to move to a new stadium. Let's be fair, the rainfall in the last month or so has broken all records. Dartford has problems because, I gather, a drainage system has failed partially -- just as well our match went ahead, although many of their fans think that was the final straw in terms of a playable pitch.

It was a league stipulation of which the club has always been aware

If Luton are in a position that they could claim the league against us at Easter, we may see more than 3000

They could open the stand opposite if necessary. The facilities are there.

There have been postponements and muddy pitches at a higher level than the Conference.

I wish they would do a straw poll amongst players up and down the country for their views.

I don't think its unfair to single out Braintree in the slightest, no-one else is to blame for their c**p pitch. It's been a problem in the recent past as well, along with Havant. It'll catch up with them when the backlog effects results. Perhaps they should spend some money on that rather than players. If they are considering a move to a new stadium I assume they have some funds lined up.
Yes the rain has been ridiculous, but others have managed.
Drainage systems don't fail. Gravity works permanently. Given Dartford have a £7mil ground you would expect there to be some drainage allowances amongst that, as well as some turf and the maintenance of it.
Let them balls it up. We get to play 50% of our games on a billiard table and 2-3 on mud baths. They get to play 50% on mud baths. We win through.

Conference rules. Don't have to comply with them if we are happy to be relegated

Excellent reply Kevin. Dartford have a new(ish) stadium and cant play their matches. We have Piggy and the games go on. No contest and a special thanks to our crew.
I think the 3G pitch is the way forward for clubs at this level as can be used by the community and also help to ensure games go ahead during a prolonged spell of rubbish weather. Thanks for the replies but still think that Football should only be played in Football Stadiums and not Athletics Stadiums, Juventus demolished their ground with the Athletics track and built a new smaller stadium, why because the supporters hated playing in an Athletics Stadium. Think that some teams need to try harder in ensuring that games go ahead otherwise with the fixtures all packed in together the league becomes a farce as the bloke from Cambridge was saying the other day.

3G not to great when it snows...Maidstone had a game called off last year, unable to sweep the snow off it !
All great ideas, but where is the money going to come from ?......

Blackheath found the same problem at Well Hall.....Installed a £650k pitch, three months later first sign of snow and couldn't clear it.....the material doesn't work if it dips under certain temperatures and also when you sweep off the snow it also sweeps off the rubber crumb surface......the Saracens 4G pitch is light years better.
