With Blaine back I wonder weather Day will be tempted to go with 3 centre backs tonight especially with Braintree being long ball merchants. We would probably need to win 7 of our last 8 to make the play-offs which is obviously very unlikely with our small squad and our injury and illness problems. However I think 4 wins is very doable and should ensue we finish in the top half- an amazing achievement.

Starting 11: Butcher, Fazakerley, Gallagher, Clarke, Hudson, Williams, Wakefield, Healy, Sho-Silva, Mawson, Taylor.
Subs: Karagiannis, Beautyman, Day.

Bare bones again.

Any idea where Ajala and Turner are? Guess Cornick misses out due to loan player restrictions.

Can't see any reason why two of Ouani, Malachi, Corne, Ekim, Griffin, Jack Taylor, Patrick etc couldn't be on the bench

Sho-Silva is so isolated up front. When he does get the ball he has to wait an age for support. Clarke is playing in the hole behind Sho-Silva.
I'm not sure three centre backs is working at the moment either. Beautyman coming on at half time would be a good move I think.

I just don't know what was going through Hudson's head for that penalty. He felt he was being fouled and went to ground, then grabbed the ball - in our own area!

No lack of effort, but it just wasn't our night tonight. Ref pretty poor as well.

Seconded.

Only one team looked knackered and it wasn't the one on the three-games-per-week schedule.

Their three games per week schedule has only just started.

Down to the bare bones again and I repeat that the players on the squad list are WUFC players first and foremost and not Phoenix, Walton, Billericay, VCD etc....etc....

There are clearly mitigating circumstances with the illness and injury problems in the camp but last night was still a disappointment. No lack of effort but a real lack of sharpness. I don't think we won a second ball all night and sometimes not even the third one. Formation change probably didn't help and nor did having to field four central midfield players. The concession of the penalty was just ridiculous - I think I was taught to play to the whistle when I was at primary school...

I hope we can get some more bodies back for the final seven games. It would be a real shame if we have to limp to the end of the season after the great efforts that players and management have put in thus far.

Spot on there. Midfield chased shadows and didn't impose itself at all.

Joe needs a rest by the looks of it, lots of games for a part time player looks to have caught up with him.

Comedy Ref last night didn't help much either.

Wouldn't liked to have been a player in the dressing room after.....

3 at the back, 6 in the middle and Sho Silva isolated up front, let's hope that little experiment is confined to the bin marked WTF were we thinking. Once we switched to four at the back we looked more likely to score. Poor refereeing didn't help. It's the first time I've seen a referee with a real ale named after him, (those who were in the Door Hinge last weekend will know what I'm on about) Skinner's Ginger Tosser

Dis-jointed throughout. New formation didn't help, but was enforced due to the amount of people missing.

Started well but lost our way midway throught first half and never looked like pulling it back.

The penalty again the result of a referee who got the first decision wrong, but it doens't excuse Blaine if he picked the ball up. Referee very very poor and his stupid trait laughing and smiling just made it worse - absolute clown.

Joe gives his all week in week out but really needs a break for a couple of games. We are suffering for being a club that has to play the loan system in part to get players good enough for this League but that is the way until we start to bring some through.

On the plus side it was good to see Barney Williams back. Not the finished article, but great attitude and determination and he will get there.

Fair play to Braintree, they won again tonight beating NUNEATON 2-1. It show's what can be done with a limited budget. Does anyone know weather they would be allowed up (or even in the play-offs) with their ground?
