My son was one of the mascots yesterday and I thought it deserved a plug as it was a brilliant day out. Ok I appreciate not everyone can afford £100 but for that three of you get to go into the lounge and the mascot gets a full kit to keep. Paul is brilliant, taking them onto the pitch and organising the photos. My son thought Lee Clarke "funny" - I think he meant amusing rather than odd, and was well impressed to have a kick around with Joe Healy. His engraved shield now takes pride of place in our living room and the signed programme was a nice touch. The whole thing was really well organised and got a thumbs up from the whole family. He's already asked if he can do it again next year and I would definitely recommend it. It's also probably just about the only time I've left the lounge sober.
In 18 months time I hit the big 5 0, perfect gift would be to be the " Mascot" for the match nearest my birthday. I'd be quite willing to pay double for the honour of leading the team out, I'd even buy my own kit with the number 50 on the back and then get the players to sign it after the match. Well one can dream :)
