Jack is Obo, Joe is Jobo, but I know what you mean. I'm sorry to see all three go and wish them well wherever the end up.

Interesting that there is no mention of Toby Ajala, Coskum Ekim, Vasilious Karagiannis and Connor McLaren.

Wow, very surprised.

I know we can't expect to retain everyone and yet afford to strengthen, but would have kept all three of them. Only consideration is maybe Clarke wage being higher than most I assume, but surprised all the same at all three.

Still, I am sure Jamie has it all under control and its very positive to hear so many are staying, and that its been done so early. Allows plenty of time to strengthen, and a big statement of intent to free agents that we mean business.

Ekim I assume isn't happening, Jamie had a look at Salisbury and decided a no. McLaren injured, nothing to consider for some time.

VK and Ajala, would like to see both back asap. I assume still haggling if no decision made.

Jack Obo, big mistake for me, if a quicker, overlapping, set-piece taking left-back is available for his wage to travel nationwide I would be surprised, but delighted. Injury prone was raised by someone a few weeks back, if a detached retina is included in that decision I think it very harsh.

Oh and finally, Tom Bender? Would be great to see him signed up, but I think Guthrie leaving might hint at the chance of that happening.

Would've kept Obo if we're not signing Tom Bender, hopefully something can be done there though.
Sad to see Clarke leave, pretty close to a club legend in my opinion and still could do a job.

Wonder what the situation with Kurtis is, perhaps he wants to play in a more central role.

Kurtis travels a lot, I assume if the money isn't right it isn't worth it. Who wouldn't look for a move nearer to home. Nice to see he was wanted as he is class, hope time will sort that one out.

Welling manager Jamie Day has confirmed that he has agreed terms with a number of first-team squad members.

The Wings are pleased to announce that leading scorer Ross Lafayette, Joe Healy, Jake Gallagher, Loui Fazakerley, Harry Beautyman, Lee Butcher, Jamie Turner, Barney Williams, Sam Corne, Malik Ouani and Malachi Hudson are all staying at Park View Road.

Day said: Im delighted that weve secured the services of this core of players who performed so well for the club in the past 12 months at Conference Premier level.

Were all looking forward to the challenges ahead in the new campaign and Im sure were all looking to improve and push ourselves as far as we can, both individually and collectively.

Kurtis Guthrie was also offered a new deal but he has declined the option of staying at Park View Road. However, the club are entitled to compensation from his potential new club as he is under the age of 24.

Day also confirmed the departures of club captain Lee Clarke and full-back Jack Obersteller, who have both left the club after not being offered new deals.

Clarke made 197 appearances for the Wings and scored an impressive 59 goals, captaining the side to Conference South title success in 2012/13, while Obersteller departs with 163 appearances for the Wings to his name.

Day said: Id like to go on record to thank both players for their services to the club over a number of years.

Lee joined the club before I came back as manager and Jack was one of the first players that I signed.

I wish them every success in the future.

Wow, we're certainly going to see some transfer action this summer then, as only the first 6 are regulars.

Particularly gutted to see Obo go who I still rate very very highly. Bender, Cargill and the like are very good young players, but I'm not convinced leftback is their best position. Who knows who Daisy has lined up though...

No idea what Clarkie's future plans are but I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks he could be management material one day. Maybe we haven't seen the last of him at PVR.

Shame about Kurtis always liked his effort and always will love him for winner at dartford when i was standing right behind goal :) With regards to clarke he put a bit of timber on and was always gonna be a longshot staying as near the end he was mainly a sub or was subbed. Anyways I wish all the released the best of luck in the future and hope to see you again one day at PVR :)

I was surprised to see Clarkie stay last season but he more than justified his place. Top player and a top bloke as well. The committment to travel from Peterborough week in week out speaks volumes about the bloke.

I am not surprised that Obo has been released to be honest. He did suffer with (freak) injuries but, in my opinion, hs heart wasn't in it in the last few appearances of the season. I am not a real fan of Bender but I would have Cargill back on loan for next season like a shot.

Thanks to all the players who have served us so well particularly Clarkie and Obo. The bottom line is it is up to the manager to get the players he wants and use the budget as he sees fit.

In Day we trust.

Sad to see all three go for various reasons, but yes, in Daisy we must trust, and to have 75% of the squad sorted so early is fantastic, with numerous other targets mentioned some weeks back, I hope we'll be ready to go before the season is anywhere near starting.
