... as assistant manager?  I wonder whether he would be among the runners despite his 2-year contract.  Is there a nominal release fee if a League club comes in for him?  Discuss.

Well, relieved to see this isn't a "Daisy to become Gills manager?" thread that crops up every single time they get shot of a manager. The reality is that he's never even an outside bet on the bookies' odds list.

I can't see it myself. Not as if it's such a high level that a job as No.2 would be irresistible.

No chance at all in my view and that isn't a slur on Daisy!

I just thought that Daisy would consider working with, and learning from, the former England under 21s manager - purely because he enjoyed listening to, and talking with, Ade Pennock when we played Forest Green.  That's all - crikey, I don't want him to go.  We need him,  his contacts and talent-spotting because, without a massive budget and/or a sugar daddy, we would struggle terribly in the Conf Prem.  Incidentally, I see that Scott Sinclair (a former Wings player) has left his job as Tamworth's assistant manager and is returning to Kent - he was, I think, heavily involved in Gillingham's development squad.  Could be a runner for the Gills - or maybe he could do a job for our academy team?

The thing with Daisy is a toss up between ambition and family security

He has a settled postion with his coaching roles out side of welling and managing us.....If you add those two salaries together I will guess that any offer would have to be considerable as the risk is difficult

I think you mean the redoubtable Mr Lindsey (Scottie's up!) who could quite easily scare or browbeat his charges into submission!!

Yep, I thought Sinclair did not sound right!  And yes, he would certainly take no prisoners - he did not do so on the field.

As you were - Hessenthaler appointed Gills' assistant.
