In the words of adam banks of the mighty ducks 'i woke up this morning and the pain was gone'...And yes grumpy because i still feel its a complete p###take going on holiday 2 weeks before the start of the season, and if it was not such a long serving player more would be said of it.
At the end of the day we're a part-time club. The players have other jobs outside the club.
For all we know, Joe may have had to take the two weeks holiday now because of work.
The mole hill is fast becoming a mountain. Joe will back for Saturday, and hopefully as fit and ready as he was at the earlier friendlies.
At the obvious risk of upsetting mole-hill fanciers, is Joe suspended from Saturday's match following an appearance for another club towards the end of last season?

In answer to my own question, I cannot see any disciplinary reference on the FA site so he must be ok - it must have been a yellow card which did not count towards his tally.

He has gone away in the summer holiday period and played a full part in some of the friendlies prior to that. Perhaps that was the only time available to him?
He is a part time footballer not a full time one. Some players have "work commitments" during the season and have to miss games - it happens.

I second that, Wingnut. Also, if Joe did not have a good job in the City and relied on his income from football he would be playing at a much higher level - thanks to Jamie having faith in him and recognising the superb contribution he makes to our team in the face of some criticism and a few raised eyebrows at the time of converting Joe from striker to midfield. Thanks for sticking with us Joe - nobody should doubt your commitment. Incidentally, I still think Joe can play up top.
Jamison - in relation to your comment regarding Joe I think it might be an apt time to remind you of Abraham Lincoln's famous saying ...'' It is better to keep your mouth shut and let everyone think that you are an idiot ....than to open your mouth and confirm the fact.'' Pip Pip !

Thank God you aren't the manager then!
Tee hee, ok, but he can hold the ball up well and has the knack of scoring quite a few goals. Perhaps a more forward role?
Joe free - Listen i think joe is a fantastic player and a really nice guy, fact is we might be a part time club but we are playing with the big boys in this league..i would bet my life that not one other club had a player on holiday at this stage of pre season..i would also bet that it might of been me who said it but plenty of others think it, forum is for opinions so pipe down.

Implying im stupid for having a opinion about a football related matter in which you gave no opinion other than to have a pop at me, is what i take offence too. The use of a word one word for multiple meanings??? Has nothing to do with this..
Joe May have allocated holidays as I have and be told when he can have time off, plenty of professions have allocated holidays. I'm told when my holidays are and if I don't like it I have to arrange with others to swap. My other half works in a school and has fixed holidays and both my kids are at school, they are all off at the same time but only twice in 12 years have I had my summer holidays the same time as schools. Joe could well be in the same situation.
