If you have signed him I have one question for you. Are you trying to get relegated? First Kieran St Aimee and now Nicky Nicolau. Both were part of the disastrous squad put together by Dean Holdsworth that nearly got Chelmsford City relegated last season. Holdsworth was such a **** manager he put them both on a contract so we couldn't get rid when he was sacked and so we were stuck with these two all year. We came so close to being relegated and now two of the worst players in our squad seem to have been signed by you lot in the Conference Premier. They're not good enough for the Conference South, let alone the Conference Premier.
Good luck next year. You have a great manager in Day but he's going to have to work some serious miracles to get these two to a level thats anywhere near good enough.
Who knows what he is like but there are always two other factors...
1. What they are like alongside better players than a struggling Chelmsford had
2. Daisy has completely changed a few players....attitude, teamwork etc
The manager said in his interview after the Telford game that he had been training with us for a couple of weeks and could be added to the squad if required.
Why was Nicky so bad? For me his a great player at this level. I coached him as a kid and his a great lad. Works hard from games I have seen and trys best. Makes runs, crosses well and can take corners and free kicks.
We never got to see him but Chelmsford supporters were dismissive of him when it was reported that he was training with us. Personally, I was looking forward to him proving them wrong. I cannot criticise someone I've never seen play.
I see. Well you cant really blame someone for wanting to play at a higher level. Also Chelmsford dont have much chance in the Conf South after last seasons poor finish and apart from there last result have been poor this season. Nicky played in League two a full season and 5 games in League one then got bad injury. Since then his not been the same but his good enough for any Non League team. Once he gets over his current injury I think you will see the best out of him this season and I can see Chelmsford being in the top 6 anyway.
