Even start to the match. Defence not looking that secure, but still nil nil. Jefford not started well, wouldn't surprise me to see Williams brought on in his place.

Telford just had goal disallowed, for hand ball I think.

Goal came from a free kick a few yards outside the box, given away by Young. Free kick was on target and Butcher got a lot behind it, should probably have kept it out really.

New strike force haven't had a huge amount of service so far. They look okay, but haven't been given any clear chances as yet.

This game is crying out for Healy in the middle. Let's hope half time brings some changes.

Telford player sent off for second bookable offence.

Telford down to 9. another second bookable, which could been red in its own right, so high and late was it.

An option for the "injured party" to trade a red card for a goal could be a new twist to the game........ leave Telford with 10 men and "cash in" the second red for the equaliser.......

Telford were caught napping there. We took a short corner and Beautyman had plenty of time to widen the angle and pick his spot.

Lads played well today. Only allowed Telford to get one shot away in the last 40 minutes when they were down to 9 men. Really disappointing refereeing performance today. Atleast 4 good penalty appeals all turned away. We had so many chances I cant believe that we didnt get a winner. Unfortunate with the way we conceeded but thats football. Created chances but not taking them....practice in how to take them chances and we could be in good shape for this season. Telford fans shouldnt get their hopes up. Didnt look impressive by a long shot. Confused as to only 6 minutes were added on. With the two red cards. Endless bookings. Numerous freekicks and nonstop timewasting, was expecting around 9. Even then with the 6 minutes, 3 or 4 of them were used for time wasting. But as said, a point is a point. They all add up. Felt like a bit of De ja vu however as something similar happened against salisbury at home last season compared to this game

Early days and all that......but that was poor. We got bullied until they started losing men. We'll trust that Jamie will sort out the obvious deficiencies. I think Telford will be happier at the end of the day.  The ref done us a big favour today. Their sending off's were harsh. If they were given against us I would of been psed off. Lots of work to be done. Losing all those top quality players from this time last year is gonna bite us on the bum for sure.

In Jamie we trust.

AFC Telford are cynical, time wasting cheats who play hoof ball and no football. What a terrible team to watch, whose only tactic was to hoof it out to the tall right winger and look for a flick on.

If the only plan you have is to cross the ball in constantly it does not matter if the other team have 11 or 9 players...they still had to big centre halfs hoofing it clear, should of stuck bush up top for last 10 mins if that was the plan!

Well that was really poor but then I expected it with half of the team new there gonna need time to bed in and find there way I guess. The free kick they scored I was right behind that goal and the gk should of saved it for sure and he was rightly disgusted with himself but best to get the errors out of the way early :). The cbs started of shaky but looked quite good after they went down to 9 men so dont know what to make of them lol. The left back on the other hand was awful Jefford he really wasted many good crossing attempts and he defended at times like a man been down the pub all night Harry Beautyman was behind everything good we did in 2nd half and took his goal well and was alert to the chance and finished well I am still in shock how he missed the header from 8 yards though when a perfect ball found him unmarked and you could see by his reaction he should of buried it :(. One thing is for sure goals are going to be scarce for us and this could be a long hard season it really shows up how much we miss rosco and miss the threat upfront anyways COYW and gr8 to have football back on again :)

Sometimes I think people must have watched a different game to me.

We did not play well. In the first 40 minutes, 11 v 11, I think we also only had 1 shot on target. Nor did we have "4 good penalty appeals" - we had one that was an absolute stonewaller that wasn't given.

We didn't take advantage of the extra men as well as we could have done. In my opinion we bypassed the central midfield area too quickly by playing long balls from defence out to the wings. If it takes 3 seconds for the ball to reach the man then it gives the opposition time to close him down. Too many crosses in the air for their big centre backs to mop up, rather than utilising the space given to Healy, Beautyman and Gallagher and working the ball into the box.

Improvement required, I don't believe we would have got anything 11 v 11 despite Telford looking poor.

In Daisy we trust.

I thought we looked dis-jointed throughout the first half and other than a slice of luck (in my opinion) we should have gone in at half time level. The two sendings off allowed us to force the issue but we seemed to lack ideas on how to break Telford down. In all fairness, it is difficult to get passed a nine man defence. Some strange bookings by the ref didn't help either, and it was odds on that there'd be a sending off as the game went on. Didn't like the time wasting, but if the shoe was on the other foot, I'd have done the same being one down with two men sent off. Telford did not offer much, but did capitalise on our poor first half performance. I thought their 15 (Owens) looked dangerous and on a different day could have scored. For us, the start of the season was going to be something of a concern until the players get used to each other. Hard call for our man of the match. We didn't lose and we end the day in the top half, and yet to be beaten this season.

We will never know if we would have got nothing if it was 11 v 11 so why even worry about it. Thought Telford's indiscipline cost them in the end and it's laughable to suggest neither were sending offs.

Poku got booked, perhaps harshly, two minutes before half time but then made a schoolboy error in picking the ball up when the referee hadn't blown for a free-kick. Sheer stupidity.

As for Phenix, he handled the ball into the net - blatant cheating - so he got a yellow card. Does anyone want to argue he shoudln't have had one? Then, in a position of no danger, he clatters into the back of one of our players. More stupidity and he deserved to go.

Thought their 11, who got a stupid booking for coming back on without permission, was also pushing his luck in the second half, and so to be fair was Faza.

Think some of the criticism of Ben Jefford today is harsh. A very nervous first half but got better as the game went on. Give him a chance! It was his first game and he will learn.

People seem to forget that the corner that led to our goal came from a decent cross of his that they were happy to put out. He also put in a decent cross that Jake headed wide and the cross in added time that H put wide when he should have scored.

He is a young lad taking his first steps at this level and while he may need to be stronger in his defending he will find his way.

All in all we did ok, not brilliant, not awful, but it is a very new side and we need some games for them to become a team.

We have a point on the board, point more than eight others and a point more than last year. Stay positive and get behind all of the team rather than knock them after one game.

Personally I thought we were second best in the first half, poor effort by Butch letting the free kick go through him. Can't argue with both sending offs as it was plain stupidly by both players. Referee was shocking and the assistant on the E&B side never once made a descision for himself. As for Obafemis yellow card for diving, he was in front of the defender and slowed allowing the defender to push him over, personally I think he was looking for a penalty and his over dramatic response to the push in the back lead to the ref think it was a dive. Again the assistant made no call. Was this a point gained or two dropped, one thing is for sure if we perform like we did against Telford on Tuesday v Torquay and next Saturday v Halifax I think we will suffer heavy defeats.
Won't stop me going to both matches though. Let's hope it was just first game nerves for a few of the new guys
