There is an article in this months 'When Saturday comes' on the lack of success of professional clubs in Kent and Sussex given the amount of people who live there etc. The writer mentions a series of successful non league clubs in Kent and guess what;Maidstone, Dover,Dartford, Gravesend, Margate, and Gillingham get a mention but no Welling.
Needless to say I have written to them to point this out, with an added dig at radio Kent.
Also he seems to think the lack of rail links have hampered Kent football clubs chances in the past and more amusingly Gravesend applied 3 times to join the Football league and received 0 votes.
Sorry Mark but I certainly would not rely on a post office quirk for your geography. I didn't want this to descend into another kent vs london thread as it's been done to death many times before. I live in barnehurst but again the post office don't recognise this so address wise we are in bexleyheath. They haven't updated the codes for years hence why welling still has kent on the address. But the weight of evidence surely makes it clear.
LONDON borough of bexley LONDON telephone code LONDON television coverage LONDON busses LONDON travel card zone LONDON metropolitan police we vote for a LONDON mayor Kent border is around the princes rd roundabout well after passing through Welling.
I'm sure there are more examples but they escape me for now. There are times when I'd prefer to live in kent (proper Kent) and not Greater London but we don't.

I didn't intend to start a where is Welling thread, the point is we need all the publicity we can get and the radio issue relates to that. I don't see why a place can't be in both city and county, i live near Croydon now and it frequently styles itself as being in Surrey as well as a gateway to London. I don't think people would mind us being ignored by radio Kent if there was an alternative.
