Hello,

Just sounding out interest for a coach to Grimsby on Sept 6th? I know Paul has had a few enquiries from people. I've not got any costs yet but we are probably looking at £35 people paying £20 each roughly, possibly a bit more.

Any takers?

From what I recall the feedback from the survey at the end of last season people wanted more away coaches

yet no response to a thread on here , does this suggest that the Forum is not the way to promote it

other ways to contact people are a must , more advertising or is the pricing a draw back ? , last season the club ran a free coach which struggled to fill

Just curious

Valid comments Paul. I posted on the "free coach" thread last year as I was staggered it wasn't full given the club's gesture to run it at no cost to supporters.

Personally I struggle sometimes to commit to a coach two/three weeks in advance because I never know that far ahead if I can make the game, coach or otherwise, due to work and kids. However, I didn't fill up a WUSA survey and I didn't put that I wanted more coaches. You, Dean, and the club, can hardly be moaned at by those wanting more coaches given they are on offer and people are not taking them up.

However, there are a lot of people who don't use the forum, and it's been very quiet on here compared to last season anyway, perhaps Facebook and Twitter posts from official club pages? There should also be a Welling United email mailing list really, if there isn't already, I run one via my work and it is very easy to do, both in terms of setup, and ongoing usage.

Me and my son went on the free coach last season and loved it was a good time and good day out shame about the performance on the pitch though lol. We also met some nice dedicated welling fans for me we are looking at doing this again this season but its cost that stops me going to more away games as we go to all home games and as I am not currently working it would be a lot of money for 2 seats on a coach and 2 tickets and drink food etc for that sort of money it would pay for about 5-6 home games anyways thats my thoughts all the best m8 best regards Big Dave

Last season i put posts on Twitter which the club and others re-tweeted but this generally didn't get many people booking.

The most frustrating thing is we need to know 2-3 weeks in advance normally that we have enough people to make the coach viable to run. The amount of people that will come up to the WUSA desk the week before wanting to travel is amazing. I know people have commitments and may find it difficult to commit to going, but we need to make sure it's not going to cost WUSA a fortune, as some coaches did last season.

Lots of people said in the survey's they wanted more coaches and that's not translated into bookings for either Eastleigh or Grimsby. Around 25 people also said they would be interested in Boost the Budget and nowhere near that amount of people have committed either. Again, i know there's a bucket collection for loose change which does help, however Jamie needs to know how much money he can have on a weekly basis.

There's a big difference with people saying they want to do things, and then people committing.

Yep, I'd be curious to hear from those that wanted more coaches yet aren't visiting Eastleigh or Grimsby ....

Only had 6 names for this, I'm afraid it won't be running.

There is an email mailing list you can subscribe to on the main website. There'a a box where you enter your email address near the bottom of the homepage.
