Southport site says stamping, and they are there, BBC aren't. Seems like he trod on the guy as falling maybe, JT is not the sort of guy to fight/stamp.
Joyce for Southport has committed four fouls according to BBC, might see it 10 v 10 if he carries on.
We'll wait until we have footage of game and see if there's grounds for appeal. If there is then JT can play until appeal has been heard, with Hannington as sub keeper. The problem is if the appeal is deemed frivolous, then the ban can be extended.
Unlucky to concede in the 94th minute after defending well but,
Amazed we only made one enforced sub, and given their dominance in the second half, and us having ten men, we didn't think to make a change in the whole of the second half.
Not our day. Chin up lads. Great effort. Still dominating possession and general play it seems. You'll get the breaks soon.

A shining example from the two most senior members of the squad.
Mmm... Let's wait and see what the footage shows. For all we know it could six of one, half dozen of the other.
Just looking at the stats we only made 12 fouls during the entire game compared to Southports nine fouls.
However we got two straight reds and three yellows. Southport got two yellows.....
It would possibly appear there were 9 men playing against 12 in the end today... But like I said, let's see the footage before passing judgement... Unless you were there of course and had a good view of both incidents.
Yes WTID i was there... No grounds for appeal at all. Brodie made the most of it but he was Trod on by JT. Daisy as well, disappointing when the game is lost to get sent off. A real shame as the first 40 minutes was all Welling and we should have won that game! Poor discipline.

club discipline today was so bad that I would be little short of amazed if at least an effort was made by
the club not to lay on free travel to a future away fixture. I honestly couldn't believe what I saw today

Cheers Polo. Looks like Hannington will be in goal for Maidstone.

in what was an eminently winnable fixture.
The last time they laid on free travel against Salisbury FC (RIP) the coach wasn't even filled.

i'm travelling home from Merseyside now matey - all the more reason.
Why Salisbury RIP? **** em. They deserve it.
I can't comment on discipline today as I wasn't there. However, red cards for last ditch tackles happen, for stamping and arguing etc? not acceptable at any level, park, Prem or Conference.
Turner was a bit dumb in trying to get up from what was like a rugby league tackle situation and 'inadvertently' standing on parts of Brodie who had made a bit a late stupid flying charge and landed on top of him. Brodie naturally made the most of it. The free kick had already been given and Brodie subsequently got booked.
Day was having a good old row with Fyfield after the goal and an as afternoon's running and the result had just had just gone out the window I'd guess the red mist descended. I didn't get a good view of the challenge but given that Day ran off to the dressing room without protest after it and Brodie had to be helped off on one leg, I reckon it was 'If you want snide, this is snide and have a few weeks off to consider it!'.
Not necessarily a good example to set to the rest of the side, potentially leaves us in hole next week if neither Bush or Fagan are available but something you can do if you have the option of not picking yourself for the return match if you think things might get tasty.....

Just got home from Southport. A winnable game from which we came away with no points. We played most of the football in the first half and still had chances to win in the second half. Brodie their centre forward? clearly had the job of getting under everyone's skin and he did a really good job having a hand in both sending's off. Notwithstanding they were there for the taking and we missed the opportunity, let there be no doubt that even the poorest referee (and this one was very poor) would have had no other option but to issue a red card to Jamie T for, from where I was watching, a clear stamp on Brodie. Jamie D was clearly still raging from conceding the winning goal with 15 seconds remaining and hit Brodie with a tackle just before the final whistle, which was a sure fire second yellow, which ultimately led to the red (I don't think it was a straight red). Not good discipline and our card count must be stacking up quite alarmingly. Notwithstanding a missed tackle in the final minute, Fyfield was my MOM and there was no lack of effort from the side but sadly with no end product. A long way to go for such a disappointing result.

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.

Looking at the game, we had more shots on target and far more possession than Southport.
The lads that stayed on the pitch deserve credit for their performance. If they stay confident and focused, then we'll be picking up points again very soon.
As for disciplinary action from FA, I can't seem to find any record of a conference side receiving a fine for too many red and yellow cards, although I'm sure it's happened.
Spoke to a few Southport fans after the match and they were and are totally embarrassed by Brodie, "he does it in every game". Most of them also said that we deserved at least a draw and were really unlucky and the ref was so inconsistent and seemed to favour Southport, must admit I agreed with the Southport fans.
JT had to go for stupidity, I was right behind the incident and there was no doubt the stamped on Brodie, the first one looked accidental but then Brodies reacted and seemed to try and pull back JT, JT then looked down and deliberately stamped on him, ref had no option but to red card JT. Thought young Henly did really well when called upon, personally I thought the Ref was the worst I've seen in many years and if the FA had a supervisor there then this clown must be relegated to sunday league matches, although that might be unfair on the Sunday league teams.
Will Henly be allowed by Reading to play for us on Saturday's FA cup match? if not I fear we will fall at the first hurdle,

Find it very hard to understand how anyone who isn't at a game can then use stats to
Talk us through a game.
The highlights from Wings TV will show what went on I'm sure
And as for sky sports reporting both players sent of for fighting
Not even correct , really if your not gonna report correctly don't bother
Rant over
Stats differ depending on what you look at and I know the Press Association representative didn't report either sending off as fighting so I guess the person in their office just made it up.
