"Today has been a busy day for transfers at Welling United. Lee Shearer and Matt Carruthers were released and subsequently joined Ryman League Premier Division side Folkestone Invicta. However, moving the other way is defender John Guest who joins the Wings on an 18-month contract. Hector Mackie has also signed for the Wings from Grays Athletic until the end of the season. In other news Mark Green's loan with Eastbourne Borough has been extended for another month.
John Guest is a quick central defender who joined Folkestone Invicta from Sittingbourne during September 2002. John has previously had spells with Nottingham Forest, Charlton Athletic and Gillingham. Guest made over 100 appearances for Invicta.
Hector Mackie is former Tottenham trainee who has had spells with Waltham Forest, Redbridge, and Grays Athletic. The young Winger can also play in forward positions."
