A young side and no real bench. Suspensions killing us. Here's hoping to a strong performance and no more injuries and/or cards.

One of the worst benches I can remember us putting out since the dark days when we had 1 sub at home to Bromley

Well-worked goal. Great build up play from Hudson and Fyfield, before Penny bust a gut to get in the right place to finish.

Halifax player sent off for stamping on Beautyman.

At the point that happened, several people around me commented that it was now a 10 a-side match. It was difficult to disagree with them.

Excellent result! Every result we get from teams like this, is a giant killing in terms of their playing budge, full-time squad etc. As long as the lads stay focussed and keep their feet on the ground, we'll be alright this season.

Very cynical Halifax side today, trying to take Harry out from the first minute. Great result but Harry looked shattered and had really been through it today. Can't see how Halifax are up there. I thought Basselle was good, Penny was making the right runs and Fyfield at left back seems a natural. probably the most important 3 points so far.

Went to see your game today as working this morning couldn't go to lincolne to watch the mighty darts. Credit where it's due, welling are well organised, a threat from crosses and set pieces, have a few good players and can defend when required. Jamie is a top manager and you're lucky to have him. By the way...Halifax no.5 was a disgrace. No reason for you to go down with players to come back also. There are worse teams in this league for you not to worry if you just keep the consistency.

He was straight off the pitch and down the tunnel as soon as the game ended tonight. If only he put that much effort in before the final whistle.

I dont get Welling atm...Play teams near the top, and play quality. We made Macclesfield look small, and were unlucky not to win, let alone draw. Then Halifax, we pushed and pushed and got our reward with a win...we play dartford and end up playing like Hyde...(not the Hyde team that beat us)....if we play like we have against Macclesfield and Halifax, against the teams around us, we will win by two or three. We just need to keep our cool, tighten our discipline and just finish chances. I have faith we will survive this season. I see no reason not to. We have played good enough against the top sides in order to keep our place here. Keep the faith boys. COYW!

A vital win. Disgraceful treatment of Harry Beautyman...and then the ref books him for a marginal shirt-pull after halifax had hands of red shirt all afternoon.
Ridiculous totally avoidable late booking for Fyfield over the throw in...we need to get a bit more street-wise...he is a player who makes a real impact. The win puts us back near the pack. What is the matter with those in charge of the Wings Bar? Can't they leave at least one screen on sky sports news so that we can check results / league position!!!!

With Dartford and derbys form goes mostly out the window. Both teams raise their game and unless there is a clear difference in quality form doesn't matter. Welling is a difficult place to go even for the better teams.

Highly encouraging performance today, everyone worked hard and we got the result we deserved, thought Buchel played very well. Little shaky at the end but you have to expect that from a young team without a win in a while. With Bush, Jefford, Gallagher and Healy to come back, I am really hopefully of a good run providing they can all stay on the pitch!

Plus, Harry did amazingly well to keep his cool against one of the most blatent and disgusting player I have seen in a while, I hope the Halifax No. 5 gets a lengthy ban for that.

The positives from last week's game continued into this afternoon's match. The players were excellent again today and what about that second goal? A brilliant worked goal down the left side with Fyfield to Hudson to Penny and GOAL. I thought that the play between Fyfield and Hudson was very good and with the former getting the deserved man of the match (in my opinion). With key players out, those playing are doing so with great heart and will give Jamie a selection problem on their return.

Great performance from the team and though Sam Corne deserved a mention. Works his socks off and rarely makes a bad pass. Cynical targeting of Harry and referee was pathetic in all honesty.

How did we end up with three yellow cards and they get one (plus a red that not even that idiot could have missed)?

Disagree with Wellington Boot over Jamal booking because he was holding the ball while we tried to make a substitution but because the 4th official was struggling with the board and the ref didn't see it.

Also, I am sure that if someone asked the staff in the Wings Sports Bar to leave a screen or two on Sky Sports News they would do so.

I agree. I didn't think a player was allowed to stand on the touch line with his track suit top off if not coming on so Jamal must have expected a change to be made. Now he misses Braintree and Archie Johnson is robbed of a first Conference appearance.

Sadly I missed the action as I just HAD to go to the 'big' sarf London derby. Just seen the youtube video and the assaults on 'H'. looks like the 3 should have had a straight red, you can't tell me his challenge wasn't dangerous play. I hope the club may appeal 'H's yellow and the referee gets relegated to Danson Park! (sorry local teams!) I can't imagine 'H' being fit for Tuesday after that battering. Agree with comments about Sky sports news, for heaven's sakes it's a sports bar, not just premier league. By the way was there any bitter in the bar on Saturday? It's worse now for real ale drinkers than before. Even Charlton are serving real ale, albeit a little cloudy! COYW
