Hmmm - now I wonder how many more are non-contract players? I suspect Joe Healy is not under contract. Much as I like and respect Daisy, I will not be happy if he leaves us short of players over Xmas and the New year when we cannot sign players until January.

I understand Joe Healy is the only player, other than loaness, who is not on contract.
The web site indicates Jake is in charge tomorrow, yet he is also (I believe) clear of suspension so might be on the pitch. Our dug out will be bare - will Faz be the main guy on the side?

My thoughts too. Appreciate he's got a job to do and is probably not going to get shown much patience from an expectant board but would like to have seen him hold of for at least a week or two.

I believe it was a four game ban so he is not available to play tomorrow.

Bristol Rovers (H), Telford, Ebbsfleet, Aldershot. Should be ok for tomorrow, if selected...

Would have thought there would have been some sort of agreement regarding a cooling off period before player leakage into ebbsfleet. A bit disappointing...perhaps his first chat with the new manager didn't go as anticipated?
Has the Marsh loan ended? What are the reasons for Healy for not being on a contract? Hope he'll stay and complete his 200th league appearance with Welling.
Congratulations to the club on getting some 'news' on the website presumably as it was announced, even if it's news we did not want to hear.
I was most impressed the way JT interviewed whilst caretaker manager. Obviously a good club man stolen by the neighbours, I too would have thought this could have waited until after tomoorw night's match.
Good luck for the future to JT. You have come back before, perhaps again sometime?
JT and Daisy are pretty much best mates. JT is a Welling legend and a thoroughly decent bloke, but given more money and less travel, with a young family, its a no brainer for him personally.
Healy is non-contract because of his work commitments.

The seven day approach was put in place last Monday when nobody could have anticipated the electrical problems that would delay the conclusion of the tie.
Personally I think it is right that he gone before tomorrow's game when the opposition is his new club - JT has been a good servant to the club and to goal keeping and wish him well in his new venture.

If Jake does start the game, I wonder if Jody Brown will be in the dug-out instead of sitting in the stand as originally planned?
Surely Jake has to start (and maybe even finish) the game tonight...
Some of our lads were looking very tired towards the end of the Aldershot game and with games also on Friday and Sunday we need to be careful with selection.
Clearly we can't sack off the Trophy financially but I still think the Dover and Torquay games are more important in the longer term.
Perhaps our new gaffer can find a couple of bodies to supplement the squad this week...??

Rule about 7 day approaches for non-contract players:
c) may not approach another player at the same club within 28 days of an earlier notice of approach or acknowledgment. Looks like we're safe for the Christmas period!
I saw Piggy yesterday and he told me that Jamie (Day) approached the club re: JT on Sunday evening. Monday it was sorted. JT wanted to take the team tonight but Piggy said that was impossible as imagine if we lost 5-0 and then JT left for Ebbsfleet Weds am. Would look very dodgy.
Given JT can't play tonight as he wasn't registered with Ebbsfleet on the date of the original tie (therefore can't play in replay), why Ebbsfleet didn't wait until Wednesday to do the deal seemed strange. I imagine its a little trick to try to weaken us off of the field and hinder our preparations, so for that at least, let's go and win tonight.

That may well be the rule but this JT switch now sounds like a chat between mates rather than an official approach.
Which it probably was. After the chat between mates, as presumably happens in (al)most (all) cases. It's a vanity rule on behalf of the FA and they do FA about it because, to be fair to them, there's not much more they can do.
It's all about the money, can't blame him, decent bloke jt wish him well. We are also gonna have to get used to this cos I reckon Jamie will be back for others as well.

Well, that's probably Joe Healy sorted for a little while. However, the rule does not cover contracted players - how many of them are on £5,000 release clauses?
Would I be naive in thinking that despite a £5,000 release clause, that the club would have included that this can only be triggered to a club in the same league or higher?

You would hope so, but who knows? Also, I wonder whether Ty will go back to Oxford tomorrow or be loaned out elsewhere?

I wondered about Marsh but can't see Oxford wanting him dropping below the Conference National level.
On his form just before and after his injury Oxford must have some bloody good forwards if he can't get a look in!
Although there may be a couple id agree with taking the 5k for, unless we have a noticeably better option lined up, I wouldn't change too many things providing we keep hold of some of the loans, last thing we need when we are on a good run is half the team learning how to play with each other again.
As much as I respect Jamie Day and Co for what the have achieved for the club, I hope the team goes out there to night and stuffs them to show Jody and Glen what they are about and continues to play with the freedom of expression we saw on Saturday.

All considered, now is the time to show support for our team.
The guys in the dug out, who ever they turn out to be are Welling right now, they and the team need to know we are there.
