We have missed the snow completely, its damp (we haven't had much rain) but i would be amazed if the game is called off, unless it rains non stop from now till kick off. It doesn't take a lot this time of year but if it stays as it is the game is a certainty to go ahead.

Virtually zero chance of frozen pitch or being rained off from looking at the weather forecast.

I don't believe that was fair for a second, was a good strong tackle something the game needed

Anyone else think that this ref is a complete ar$e?

Good, strong tackle results in a red card, and he gives a penalty for deflected handball off the belly.

Indeed something very fishy about the referees performance, or lack of.

We can complain via the FA website: http://www.thefa.com/contact-thefa/complaints-procedure Plus we'll have video evidence.

The chances are we'll just get a standardised reply, although if enough people complain we may get some reaction although God knows what that'll be. Whether it's a referee being demoted or a halt in the increasing number of clearly biased referees giving the impression that we're not wanted in this league by the powers that be.

You'll all probably think I'm talking bollards but.....Jake has only himself to blame. He's flung himself in AGAIN. Their player has claimed his leg has been snapped in half. All their players jump up and down like it girls. Their goalkeeper runs from his area to where the incident happened 10 yards into our half. The ref is then conned into pulling the red card out. Jake has been sent off 3 times now pretty much for the same sort of thing. He's got to learn. You can't tackle like that these days. He's been mugged off. It's cost us the game. Before the sending off we were better than them. Bad marking for the first goal. Christ knows what happened for the Pen. And then Rooney slotted a nice free kick. I saw us play some nice stuff today. Once again we should of taken something out of the game. If we could only stop shooting ourselves in the foot FFS

I completely agree with Riverstown. You can't go diving in making what looks like a reckless chalenge!!!!! I'd expect more discipline from a captain already sent off too much this season. We started slowly, but were well in the game before Jake's challenge which became the turning point. Yep there was some nice football at times, but we can't go on conceding far far too many goals and expect to pick up points.

Didnt think it was a sending off but he has given the red something to think about and was a silly challenge, the pen against purse was a far far harsher descion against us. Odd vose coming off when he did too

It was a bit odd with Vose, but the conditions certainly didn't help his type of football. Thought Harris did well, ran his heart out, and showed more overall quality than we get with Penny. Was Jeffrey injured?

Lack of organisation like that could cost us. Jeffery could have had a field day against their defenders LACK OF PACE. Combination of AJ and Harris would have caused them untold probs. JOKE

It wasn't messed up by the club, watch Jody's interview later, he explains why Jeffrey isn't with us yet .... He isn't happy but its nothing to do with anything we've done.

Today was interesting, We played well for large parts.

Baffling decisions, Darren Purse has a big bruise on his chest where the ball hit him for the pen, Their guy hand balls and ref said he never hand balled it. Jake, one footed tackle took ball cleanly with a superb tackle... red card from the ref. Their guy does a TWO footed tackle ref said was ok as got ball... LOL . Steve Burr said he didn't think it was a red to me after the game.

We've seen refs demoted before after games at Welling, i can see today's ref being in the feeder leagues after that, hes usually ok but today he missed two big decisions by them and ruined us by what looks to me.... guessing twice. If the Assessor is any good the ref will get marked down massively for today as he got 4 big decisions wrong, two let them off and 2 ruined us.

Jon Henly take a bow, some superb saves when we were going forward, absolutely tremendous today. How he never got both man of the match awards is baffling me.

We had a go at them , they've missed kicked twice in their box and its fell for them, we've missed a couple of almost sitters, they've cleared off the line twice and thats with us down to ten.

Sometimes you make your own luck in sport, and its about time we started making ours. I saw too many examples of our players moaning at the ref about decisions, rather taking personal responsibility and trying play their way back into the game. It can't always be the Ref's fault!

I would t say you are wrong Tom but it's a little Welling bias. We weren't as good, or unlucky, as you'd make us sound.

That's your opinion, We were down to ten and caused them loads of problems late on, we shouldn't have been down to ten. Of course Chester had spells in the game even 11v 11 and they could have scored more for sure, Henly made about 6 saves. but the dynamics of the game changed because of the 4 decisions all went against us and all 4 were probably wrong. You can handle if the big decisions cancel each other out but when they all go against you and are shockers, its hard to take.

Chester are in form, decent side and played well.

Yep it's all about opinions! Chester fans were good too. I think we're all frustrated as we know there was a phase after we went 1 up against run of play where there was only 1 team in it. It was definately one of those missed opportunities especially from a winning position. What's people's views on the defence, as we're leaking goals at the moment. Can understand them making chances when we're down to 10 and pushing up, but it looks like we have a score 2 every time to have chance of draw. I've only been going this season, so what are the views?

Only so many times Jake can be unlucky, he will miss quarter of a season through suspension. If ebbsfleet are still interested we should consider.

No way was that 619. more like 800. They reckon they brought 400 and don't think we've had below 500.

I was in the old stand, pretty busy today because of the rain. It holds 500. The new stand looked half full (holds 600).  The terraces have the magical power of deducting people.

How anyone can say Henly had a good game is beyond me. Im sure he's doing his best but he doesn't hold anything and his goals against record is very poor, the defenders don't look comfortable with him in goal. Biggest mistake so far Brown has made is letting Buchel go back to Bournemouth instead of Bassele.

We look disjointed and seem to have lost all pace and width other than Harris who I thought was excellent. Lets stop blaming Refs, we all moan at them (me more than most) but we have not been winning recently due to our own clumsy play and incompetence and frankly too many changes to a side that needed tweaking not being totally overhauled. Brown has a lot to do to impress as we have some tough games to come.

It was hinted as "attitude" as the reason why he was sent back.

Henly pulled off about 5/6 great saves second half, especially first 20 mins of that half. Keeping the score 3-1 instead of 7-1 could be vital come the end of the season. For that reason I've got no problem him getting MOTM. Not as if we had many other choices today!

Bass attitude? I'm sure his attitude didn't change in that week from the four previous. That said I didn't rate him much. More an athlete than a footballer from what I saw.

Interesting to note comments about how well we apparently played in spells yet our keeper gets MOTM and it could have been seven/eight without his saves.

There are a few that need to shape up or be shipped out.

Jakes ball winning tackle was not even a foul never mind a red card. Several Chester supporters said the same thing to me at half time. Yet again individual errors and diabolical referees have cost us, Jakes reputation as being a dirty player is costing us dear. His red at Bristol when he clearly one the ball and todays when again he clearly won the ball probably means a 5 match ban on the totting up of points.

A bit fed up with all this blaming everyone but ourselves...

Time to start getting points before it is too late

All looked very disjointed to me yesterday

It will be touch and go if we stay in this league....

Here's my opinion on yesterday and I am very loathe to criticise. Chester could easily have stuffed us with 2 tremendous shots hitting the posts and, as already mentioned,  Henly making several excellent saves. He did let himself down slightly by failing to hang on to what appeared comfortable saves rather than spilling the ball and conceding a silly throw in the top corner near the end of the game. Darren Purse looks a player sadly "past it". He made several errors especially when trying to play the ball out of defence and arguably at fault for two of the goals. I thought initially it was a penalty although if Tom's video shows chest I accept that. Although how Tom could film over the standing Chester fans is a mystery! Duguid looked fairly anonymous yet his experience showed as he often appeared in the right place.

As far as Jake's tackle is concerned again my initial thought was that the referee got it right although several people closer to the incident said he won the ball. The problem clearly is Jake's reputation. Mr Powell, the ref, was officiating his 3rd game at PVR this season I believe, and clearly the officials do discuss players and the "intent" which Jake showed in diving into the tackle plus his "previous" I'm sure counted against him.

The two initial substitutions smacked of damage limitation and it was only the introduction of everybody's favourite No 10 that we saw more effort in the final third. He could and indeed should have scored with an unmarked header and the scramble in the  6 yard box. And Jamal suddenly showed his danger and class when bombing down the left late in the game. Why not earlier? The one major plus was the effort put in by Harris. He has serious pace and gave 100% throughout. Assuming we get the paperwork sorted out for Jeffrey we could cause defences major problems in future games.

Finally the return of Bass for "attitude problems" really does raise one question, as a previous comment highlighted, why was his loan renewal made and Buchel (an excellent keeper) sacrificed?

Good luck to everone atMacclesfield next week.  COYW.
