The best thing in my opinion that ever happened to the Wings was the appointment of Jamie Day as player manager and the worst thing was his resignation. Before his appointment the club were in the doldrums and the improvement under him was almost instant. Now we are back in the doldrums again. No disrespect but to appoint a coach from a club two division below seems foolhardy. I note that Gillingham FC are about to appoint a new coach and are asking their players for their opinions as to who they consider and what qualities he should possess. Good thinking
I would hardly say that we are in the doldrums. We are in the fifth tier of English football.
We have lost a few games, and are shipping in a few too many goals at the moment, but we are not rooted to the foot of the table with no hope of escape.
It is far too soon to be so defeatist. We should try and remain positive. The squad has the quality and we just need to pick up a couple of wins to boost morale, then we'll be fine.
Its amazing how many new posters we have this season, all loving to be negative. No one knows any of them.
Salt, pinch, with, take.
Keep em peeled as Shaw Taylor used to say and in the main.. ignore them if all they do is post negative ****. The likelihood of them being a troll is far greater than them being a supporter. Genuine supporters will show over time they arent just new names from a persistent troll.
We seem to have about 5 or 6 troll accounts on here lately, its not rocket science to see which are trolls.

When we appointed Jamie Day, we appointed a manager who had never managed before so to say appointing Jody Brown is fool hardy is a bit stupid. Jody had to inherit a squad where numbers were depleted and he had to sign a large number of players in a short space of time. Some of these players have been great signings and following on from the performance at Macclesfield, i'm positive for the season ahead. We played very well against a strong side with a great home record and were unlucky not to take anything from the game.
The squad is beginning to gel and I believe that once we get the first win, more will follow.

I agree with Polo and would like to add that at least Jody knows about this level of football as opposed to a newly retired ex-professional.
Mr Brown also has league contacts (as did Jamie), so we don't lose out in that respect.
The squad is looking good & just needs a little more time, and i am sure we will see the results change for the better.
I'm sorry if I sounded negative, that wasn't intentional. It's just that I was so disappointed when Jamie Day quit. Let us hope that things are on the up
The club may have struck gold again with Jody, there is definitely something there that could be very good, he is learning the same as Daisy learned his trade. We just need to help get them over the line this year..
Anyone can see that hes brought in players like Vose, Vine, Jeffrey who are comparable to anyone Daisy could attract, he also seems to have some good loan contacts. The team are playing some good stuff, just some silly errors and some poor reffing, the back 4 seems to be a little bit more shaky than it was in December and we dont seem to have a left back and we loaned one out would be my only slight point. If we were getting diiiicked week in week out i can understand people being negative but we are playing mostly well with a coccck up or two at the back.
They are more than good enough to stay up and get towards mid table, just need a little belief, a bit more of the rub of the green and to play the refs like other teams a bit.
No reason why we cannot beat Aldershot then Wrexham the way we have played in spells recently.
We have goals in us now upfront with Jeffrey, Williams, Harris and Vine and we have Vose in midfield who is better than Beautyman and Alex Dyer as a footballer and hes only just getting match fit, hes different class.
Lets get plenty at Aldershot who themselves are under pressure and get behind the team, a win on Saturday gets us away again and drops Aldershot in the shiiit.

In my outside opinion your club I run quite well, you're not worse than at least another 4 teams in the league and you're looking to improve when other clubs behind you are on a run. That surely means the only way is up. Stay positive as I genuinely believe you'll stay up. Welling is a tough tough place to go and win so use it to your advantage.

agreed - once we get that under our belt I think it will start to happen for us so no need to be massively negative
Yes I have to agree that despite the last two results, the performances have improved enormously and I think there is every chance we will go to Aldershot and win. My only question is are we playing the right central defenders? If Faz is fully fit I would like to see a back four of Faz, Fagan, Fyfield and Barney. Still, in Jody we trust and whoever he picks at the back on Saturday, let's hope they don't concede any more silly goals.
