....there are still opportunities to get your football fix!
Tomorrow's choices include:
Tunbridge Wells (including Paul Booth) v Greenwich Borough (Craig Holloway, Scott Kinch, Chris Saunders, Joe Vines) in the SECFL Challenge Cup Final at Park View Road
or
Welling United Development Squad v ??? at Crown Woods School. Presumably, Joey Taylor will be getting a run out in that one.
Attended the Development Squad game on that awful 3G 4G Pitch whichever it is. Welling player turned his ankle and oppo did his hamstring, surface is a nightmare for injuries and cannot see why any team would want to use one over a traditional surface. Welling played some good football, but the bigger news was the participation on the Welling team of a familiar face from the recent past.

Why no names given? It wasn't a behind doors secret game. Were you told to keep it secret?
I wasn't told to keep it secret and was so surprised to see the person back in the Welling Red Shirt. Just think of someone who did a very fine job on and off the field for the last few seasons before leaving in 2014 and you'll know who I mean. No offence or mystery meant just so shocked to see this person there.

Apologies to everyone didn't intend for this to be cloak and dagger but had to think before posting this as I though someone else would, guesses are correct and it wasn't JT but the other one mentioned. running the midfield again like the old days.
Thought I'd see a few more people there but I suppose it was windy and cold but some positives are that Joey Taylor and Archie Johnson looked good and should be part of the squad for the next season.
Anyway that's it for me for this season, hope everyone has a good summer, Faz builds a good squad and we hit the ground running come August. Hasta La Vista!!
The Development Squad play very good football. Hopefully, a few of us will be at their final game next Saturday.
Jamie Day had a good working relationship with them. He had some of their players in for pre-season and gave Joey Taylor his league debut. Archie Johnson would have also had a first taste had the 4th official been able to work out the number board against Halifax.
What a great thread...a real whodunnit! Midsommer Murders comes to Welling, well done Moses, I can see piles of hair scatterred around PVR! And JD is developing...into what I wonder?
Sorry I am late to the party, the cricket season started for me in mid-April so only just catching up!! Summer well to all Wings staff and supporters.
The Development Squad are at home again on Saturday. They play good football so are well worth going to see if you want one last Welling United match before the summer rest.
