Jon Henly has been released by Reading. However we might get someone else. The players mulling over whether to sign or not, shouldn't leave it too long. The market is more competitive than ever and there's nothing to stop the club signing someone else before them. There won't be many other opportunities to play at this level or above.

Not sure if Mac will be number 1? Looked good when he did play though. Reece looks very skilful and glad he's signed. Looking like we'll have a good team ethic with players knowing one another.
Yes....that was my point....not sure who else I am waiting for.....Jake and Jamal....that's about it for me
and Healy.
I've heard rumours about all three, but I hope they decide to stick with "little" Welling and play key roles that will get them in the shop window in Jake and Jamal's case, and a key role on the field in terms of experience with Joe.
Players may be on holiday and mulling over offers from other teams. The longer we go into pre-season means more players that are trying to get football league clubs will start looking at offers from the conference. Players also get released from trials at clubs higher up and filter down. Hopefully we don't spend all the budget early and save some for one or 2 gems that may come up later on.

Am pleased with the latest signings and others made so far but am a little concerned about 'senior' players such as Gallagher and Fyfield perhaps Healy too. With our budget we have to be quite persuasive am sure but two of those have committed by now in the past. That said have great faith in the Management team but we do need a sprinkling of 'name' players to complement the squad. The likes of Chambers and Lafayette were critical in this respect last season (albeit on loan).
Agreed, it needs to be a balanced squad, the names so far are quite exciting and the side is shaping up as a young, fit, and very quick team. But there should be a few older heads there, particularly as there will be times when experience out on the pitch will be essential. Fingers crossed that Faz has the budget to re-sign a couple of older heads, not too sure about Gallager though, he did pick up a lot of yellow / red cards so was missed through suspensions.
I know he had a difficult season disciplinary wise but for me Gallagher is a class act at this level (England C international) and has been a great servant for the Club. Would be tempted to retain him as Captain too. Healy has been a great servant too but for me would need to improve on last season. We'd need more from a player with such good technique.
We need two or three players of real quality in my view to brighten up the promising nature of the squad so far. My worry is that our (necessarily) low budget buys less and less each season. The players are the masters (rightly so perhaps) just hope it all comes together.
Didn't know about the possibility of Healy retiring. Certainly gave one or two performances along those lines last season which was disappointing.
Wellard for our budget a good start on some additional experience in the squad. Gallagher and Fyfield would be great but Chambers probably beyond us sadly as he's quality.
He said he was going to step down from National League due to his work....could change his mind of course..wasn't the Healy of 2 years ago though was he?
Is Well are a Jake replacement?....we will find out
Would prefer that not to be the case. Am told that at League 2 level Wellard was a useful playmaker but not so strong at tackling and heading (despite his size!).
