Tuesdays match was similar to the kind of home win we used to enjoy under Jamie Day. It was by no means a fluent attacking display but our 4-5-1 was disciplined and organised defensivley and we took our chances. The second goal was crucial.
Ricky Wellard was much improved in his central attacking midfield role. I would like to see him get in the box more when we have the ball in wide positions.
The most pleasing aspect was our attacking set pieces where we looked much more dangerous. If we can cut out the offsides from the free kicks then even better!
Halifax only have a caretaker in charge but apparently they were much improved on Tuesday night in their home drawn with Gateshead so we must not be complacent.
Lets hope the lads are confident, play positivity and we all get right behind them.

Could have won that by a much larger margin if it weren't for some good saves from the Halifax keeper and possibly the worst referee and linesmen I've seen at PVR in recent times. Sadly for the officials it's all on camera and they'll be at E&B for their next game if they're lucky. Last laugh to us. Onwards and upwards!
Think the last time Welling won three league games on the bounce in the fifth tier of English football was two years ago, September, in the first season back at this level? Four consecutive wins then I guess you'd have to go back to the nineties? It's not out of the question. Got to be some happy Welling fans this weekend.

Rode our luck in thr first half i thought where Halifax could have scored a couple, but credit to the lads, the workrate in that team is superb. Kabba took his goals well and hopefully it sets him up to score a few more. George Porter must be wondering when he will get a goal but his play is superb and it's only a matter of time. One stand out player the last few games has been Harry Lee. Great tackling, work rate and energy. Hopefully we can keep him past January.
Nothing to fear next week, fo there looking for 3 points!

As the saying goes, insanity is making the same mistakes and expecting different results. Changes are needed, and for me, that needs to be at least three players, at least, out urgently, and fresh faces in. If the management cannot, or will not, do that, then they should be shown the door.
Yes I think you are right a managerial change is needed, otherwise we are down .I would like to think otherwise but with no threat up front and a lack of experienced players on the pitch at this level we stand no chance of changing games, I know we have no money but we could do a lot better than this
So who wants a change of management team now? I thought Porter deserved man of the match today. He's been desperately unlucky not to have scored but it will come.

Very strange to highlight negatives after a good win Andrew. As much as some might be quick to moan about negative posts on here, I guess it shows that sometimes those critical of others are guilty of the same thing themselves as well, which makes them hypocrites in my eyes. We all have our positive and negative moments.
Three great results, but three great performances? three sets of team selection, tactics and subs that were sensible/positive/wise? For me, no.
So given you have taken the lead I will respond. Three good results doesn't mean three good performances, any more than three losses should automatically mean a sacking. If that were the case Mourinho would be looking for a job about now, and Pardew and Bilic would be getting Knighthoods.
Faz is a good man, and a positive person. His management team are very good, Paul Barnes is a great coach and Matt Mc when I have spoken to him on many occasions is a very positive, intelligent, passionate guy. However, I have watched every game but one this season, friendlies included, and seen two training sessions. I have no doubts that the management team are doing their best, as are the players. However, to be blunt, and to answer your question, do I want a change of management team? Yes. Three wins in a row is a fantastic set of results, but the fact remains we have players on contract that shouldn't be, and our tactics and changes in-game are still poor in my eyes. Of course all will not agree, but that is how I feel. Given many close to the club and in regular contact with the owners, directors and management team have commented that Faz was in "the last chance saloon" recently I assume the opinion of the powers that be is the same.
As for my previous comment about three players out, I would assume the non-use, and recent attempts to loan out, of Femi and Tash back that up.
A good result today, and recently, and I am positive we are moving in the right direction, however, I don't think anyone would have predicted this set of recent results 10 days ago, and resting on our laurels and stopping wanting the best of the club on and off the field shouldn't be discouraged.

A good week for the club, team and management staff, based on the points per game played keeps you in the league rationale we are on track to stay up.
I think these group of players have potential to succeed and there is a togetherness within the squad and they want to play for Loui and the management team that is for sure. I think he needs to be given more time to improve things and learn "life as a manager" is different from being a player or a coach.
we are currently on track to stay up and for me changing the management at this stage will be foolish move.
I agree that something is missing but I am not sure if it is a striker or a midfielder who can play the ball through the channels for Kabba and George to run on to or both?
I want Loui to succeed as a manager as much as any wing fan as he is a Welling man through and through and I admit I did not see 9 points in 8 day's coming and feared the worse for Loui reign had he lost the games

I highlighted the negativity of others, not the negatives. I'm sure you'll agree there's a very obvious difference and as for hypocrisy well I'll leave that to those who are quick to call supporters trolls. I think we are moving in the right direction as a team. Yes we could do with a 20 goal a season striker but there aren't many of those out there on our budget. As I've said before we are punching above our weight and so I'll take these three victories. As for not predicting the last three results, maybe that highlights why people ought to be a little more restrained before calling for a change of manager so quickly.
What a turn around.......suddenly everyone is scoring and we are on a winning run.....personally I don't want to put a negative on our last 10 days performances.....our attacking formation seems to be coming together....our back 4 are excellent and so solid....and Harry Lee and Corney are awesome in midfield....not the best performance today in terms of excellent creative football but a clean sheet.....a win and the 3rd win on the bounce !!!!
I for one am happy for Loui to make the managerial mistakes with subs, formations, tactics etc that one would expect from a new manager in this league.....in Loui we trust !!!!
Positivity is the new forum posting way.......:)))

Of course it's brilliant to have 3 wins and hopefully 4 at Kidderminster.I still think we have issues in the performances though! Hope I am not being negative? But in the first half against a poor Halifax side we looked sluggish and out of ideas.Kabba saved what looked like ending in a familiar way. The ref was shocking but we still didn't control the park like we should and turn the screw. As a Welling fan we all want the management to do well. If as a fan on this forum we can't sometimes voice negatives we would still be stuck with Brown and playing in the South.Bromley is the test we need to see how far we have come if we can beat them the management team really will have improved and we can put to bed the nightmare of drawing to Eastleigh. REMAIN POSITIVE well done the boys!
Another valuable three points and a clean sheet as well. We seem to finally be getting a bit of fortune with a couple of goalkeeping errors of late (and more importantly we are taking advantage of these errors) I still can't believe that we came in at half time 2 up when we were off the pace and second best for most of the first half. Congrats to Faz and Co for turning the form around but I hope that they still realise that there is room for improvement at both ends of the pitch.
One thing that concerns me going forward is the treatment of Kabba by the officials. The business from the Tranmere game doesn't exactly endear him to the officials and there were a couple of occasions in the first half on Saturday where he was clearly fouled and yet the decision went the other way?! I fear he could become a marked man by the officials in this league...
What happens if he gets chopped down in the area - do the officials give the obvious penalty or do they think twice based on the player concerned and what has happened in the past. It should of course be the former but I fear it might end up being the latter....??

It's worth noting that Mark Pottage, the referee on Saturday started the season officiating in the Championship and seems to have steadily slipped down the leagues.
So his bizarre antics are being picked up by the monitors.
