We've now had an issue with getting the 77 seater coach from Kings Ferry as it's now broken down. Therefore we will be looking to book two 49 seater coaches for next week. This is an outlay of almost £1,500 so please please support this by having a go on the scratchcards on the day. We may not be re-couping all the money from travellers as it stands as we want to keep the prices low...but we have another 30 seats available, so if you are still thinking of travelling or want to bring someone along for the day, please get in touch with me on here or via deanshulver@gmail.com. it would be great to get both of these filled and with others making the trip via train or car, we could get 150 Wings fans there.
Up the Wings!

The coaches now all booked and paid for. Confirmed time is leaving Welling United at 9.30am. The coaches are leaving Barwell at 5.30pm and heading back to PVR
We still have 25 seats free so let me know if you want to come along.

We've had quite a few drop outs on the coaches the last couple of days. If makes it very difficult to organise if you book and pay for the coaches in advance based on people telling you that they are going, and then them dropping out. Who is then expected to cover the loss? To the people that have dropped out i ask that you give us half the money, as this will reduce our losses. Had i known you were not going this time last week, we could have booked a 66 seater coach, saved over £500, and made the fares a lot cheaper for those travelling tomorrow.
Now it's the supporters association (of which all the drop outs are not members of) that will lose money. It's been difficult with not having a home game but if we do another coach in the future, we will insist on the full amount being paid at the time of booking via bank transfer or cash. If this means that we don't get enough names by the time we need to book the coaches then we just won't run them.

This is a disgrace. WUSA provides coach travel for supporters to our biggest game of the season, supporters say they can go and then suddenly change their mind. We have now lost a considerable amount of supporters funds that could have been chanelled elsewhere. As Polo says no dough up front then no coach. It also shows a complete disregard to Polo himself for all the effort he puts in on behalf of the supporters.
I hope that this situation is remembered when the next bout of WUSA bashing begins....

Hasn't the time comes to insist on payment before the place is confirmed?
We have not been helped by not having a home game before the cup game. But going forward this will be the case. In today's world with internet banking, there's no reason for people not to pay in full. The problem with this coach is that we had to book it last Friday, just 3 days after the Grays game, hopefully we have more time with the next coaches. For those that have pulled out, I shall be seeing you at the next home game to ask for some money...

Fully agree with what Wingnut says. Sometimes one may need to pull out at the last minute as I did last season when I was taken ill. However I had committed to the coach and the first thing I did when I next saw Dean was give him what I owed. I certainly trust that all those who have now pulled out do the same.
Yes I was in the same boat with a coach to Eastleigh some time ago when I became ill the day before the trip and could not go I still paid the full amount afterwards and feel that those who had put forward their names this time should do the same or be banned from future coaches.
This happens too many times and is not fair on Dean and other supporters. I'll put a couple of extra quid in the pot to help make up some of the shortfall.

Whilst I applaud Polo for his efforts on behalf of Welling supporters, this is another case of Welling fc organisation needing to catch up with the times!
Throughout the club, the act of money collecting is almost Samuel Pepys'ish! I could not believe the 1960's approach to my purchase of the 'pick n mix tickets', no cheques, no credit cards, (definitely no credit!) cash only required, (which people don't carry much of these days) and then a discount (or donation if you feel guilty enough!) for those who haven't got the right change!
Presumably Polo has names, so I suggest to those TRUE supporters who "booked" but then cancelled, you pay Polo in full at next Tuesday's home match or be named and shamed thereafter!
And in future, cannot the club get into the 2000's and go electronic with the banking and money collecting? Then, as in this case, the option will be there for people to book and make payment before the coaches have to be ordered?
Well done to all travelling by whatever means, let's hope everyone keeps dry until 16.50hrs!
This does not have anything to do with the Football club. WUSA have organised the coaches. But like every coach we have ever ran, someone always pulls out without a valid reason. This simply cannot happen anymore, if you are not 100% sure whether you can attend don't book the coach, all that happens is that is deprives someone from having a seat if a coach is full. You can transfer your money into the WUSA account if you want to book travel, so we do offer technology. We don't however have paypal, but most people hate paying for coach travel electronically and would rather pay in cash. I hope like others any person that has pulled out at this stage will stump up the full fare!
This is a difficult one. There are people who don't work Monday to Friday - 9 to 5 who think they will get the Saturday off but are then told they have to come in. However, if I committed myself to buying a coach ticket and could not go, I would still do the honourable thing and pay.
Is it any different to committing to travel as part of a group on a train?
