Welling hanging on at the moment. Great goal by Sam Corne but Grimsby well on top.

Looking purely at the stats either Grimsby are ****e at shooting or our defence is pretty solid....think they had 29 attempts to our 6

I listened to BBC Radio Humberside. They were pretty complimentary about Welling. From what they said it was a good contest in the 1st half. More Grimsby 2nd half. They said Welling were better than their league position suggests. Ok but still a loss and no points. Need a win next week.

There aren't many teams that go to Grimsby and come away with points.

I'm sure the lads will be giving their all in training over the next few weeks and against Southport and Lincoln as they'll all be competing for a place in the squad against Carlisle.

I think even if the lads play how they did today against Southport we'll be alright.

We played very well. 3-1 actually compliments Grimsby a bit. The game was very competitive, however as said all season, we seriously lack firepower up front. A great battling performance by the boys and well done to Sam Corne for a superb header for the goal!

I saw on the bbc site that Barney Williams was subbed at half-time. Tactical or injured? If latter, l hope it was slight.

Never mind the Carlisle match. We should be fully focused on the league, taking each game as it comes and not being distracted by the cup. It sounds like we played quite well today. Unfortunately playing well at the likes of Grimsby is unlikely to yield us many points if the opposition perform adequatley unlike at say Guiesley. Anyway that's all water under the bridge.

I think Faz has some work to do in the transfer market moving a couple on, even if it's just on loan and bringing in a striker or winger. That said I think Bakare has been a superb signing.

I also hope that the naughty one is still with us.

I hope Vidal wasn't benched to avoid a fifth booking. Missing two games to avoid a one-game ban would be lunacy. And if the plan was to rest them then why not tell him to pick up a silly booking in the 90th minute on Tuesday?

I can actually understand him not starting as Bakare has been playing well but it seems strange not to at least give him 20 mins from the bench. Certainly I'd rather bring him on than Kabba who seems so unfit I doubt he could even carry out mascot duties without indicating to the bench that he has a knock.
