With all the talk about the Fa Cup it's time to focus on our bread and butter of retaining our hard earned Confrence National status. With regards to staying in this league this is a real 6 pointer. Southport will be up for it as they have recently appointed a new manager in Dino Maamria. A win would put us 11 points above them whilst a defeat reduces the gap to 5. They also have 2 games in hand.
Lets all forget about the FA cup for a bit and get right behind the team in this big match tomorrow. Btw well done to all those who have put up posters for this match which I have seen in a few places around Welling and Bexleyheath.
COYW!

For anyone who can't make out what's being said on the PA, the club is asking for any qualified officials in the crowd to come forward. Based on the original referee's performance, how many Nectar Points do I need to be qualified?....

I'm really pissed off after watching that dross today. WTF have we been doing at training all week. Do we practice corners, free kicks. Bloody hell Southport posed more of a goal threat from our corners than we did. Every time an easy clearance then they broke up field. Absolutely woeful. Not a single thing to cheer today. Nothing. Bloody sort it out. I don't want to see ****e like that again. 90 minutes of my life wasted.
Someone better ring Carlisle and tell them to save money on the coach and just get someone to put eleven traffic cones out on the pitch instead.
The only one's who'll have any positives to take from today will be the players on the fringes who couldn't make the team today and will now know that if they train hard they'll have a very good chance of getting in the squad for Lincoln away, and if they play well there then maybe Carlisle.
There's a few in the squad today who I'll be very surprised if they make the squad for the Carlisle and have consequently thrown away the biggest opportunity of their career.

Oh dear.......Wasnt there but even watching bbc txt and the stats seem to make it obvious that we have a problem.....league again looking dodgy ,.....cup us lovely but not at expense of the league....will Loui get any of the FA Cup money?
I'm not sure I'd question the training. I can't imagine the management turn up for three days without planning and training well. Problem is when too many players have an off day. Today I would question whether the system was wrong aswell. That said, classic new manager syndrome.
Crap. One of the worst performances I have seen from a Welling team. Don't hold your breath about Louis getting any of the money from the Cup run (so far) to spend on players - it seems £35,000 has already been claimed to pay for our away games extravaganza if young Barry's programme notes are anything to go by. Sorry, but today's performance, or lack of it, is the sort that puts at risk the jobs of managers (or management teams). Carlisle had better worry big time because there will not be another terrible performance at home like this in 2015.
Apparently the cost of having virtually no Saturday home games is £35k, which coincidentally is roughly the same amount the club have made from the FA Cup. Don't know how they've calculated the £35k considering we only had an attendance of 600 today.
Well.....unless I am being very dim then that money returns when we get the home games rolling in!
Albeit with a but less due to midweek games
If that is wrong how would we have survived at all if Grays would have won?
My thoughts exactly. We may not have had many home weekend games prior to today But we have three weekend home games in December. Potentially four depending on the FA Trophy draw. January we've potentially got three Saturday games depending if we get to round two of FA trophy and what we draw, and then three Saturday games in February.
Not good enough today. Us lining up playing with just one striker (who has one goal this season) against a team below us and who conceded 4 goals last week is madness. Porter was shouting for the ball in the channels so he could run onto it but didn't get it enough. Our whole game plan of hit and hope was figured out very early on by a team that wanted it a lot more.
Why is Vidal playing out wide? 20 goals for Dulwich last year playing behind the striker, 8 goals i believe this year and a player whose talents are wasted out wide.
Why was KSA removed from the subs bench just prior to the game starting? If it's because of the reason I was told by a club official today then it's the return of amateur hour.

Let's go out and try and win games for God sake. It seems to me when we try to move forward we never have any forward pass options. The number of passes that end up going back is ridiculous. We are losing against crap teams. Boredom wood, Guiseley and a Southport. How crap does that make us. I'm sorry Faz Matt and Paul but that today at home was rubbish. Heartless. Hardly two passes strung together. I've supported you all the way but that today needs sorting. Do it. Or leave it for someone else to do. I'm totally disheartened by that. We were crap.
absolute rubbish! sniffed it when I saw we were negative again by playing Porter on his own and the giving away of possession was criminal-please play with positivity next time it looked like they all had been on the lash-real rubbish and someone needs to sort it or we will be joining the South in no time!

Nothing I heard there gave me any reason to feel optimistic. It seems the club will be using the FA Cup dosh to cover expenses. No need to strengthen the forward line with someone who can recognise a set of opposition goalposts then.
Harsh to expect club to chuck money in because the budget has been used on players that are not up to it and are all on contracts. I would rather the club spent nothing until we know which way the season is going as then if someone has to get us out of the Jody stuff then at least there maybe some funds to help.
We have players on wages that cannot even get on the bench, dead money, the most feasible thing is to offload a few to free up the funds for something we have lacked since pre season, a striker who can be reasonably expected to get 10-15 goals.
One of the three Managers can oversee that. they can draw straws to see who has to get nasty and get people out of the door, saying that they would need the contacts to bring in a 15 goal a season striker who can play 4-5-1.
I fear another negative 4-5-1 in the next two games and 2 losses could be finito for the three amigos. We simply must go almost gung ho against Carlisle and make it uncomfortable and get the crowd going. Non league teams do not beat league teams by being solid, they beat them by asking questions and giving 110%.
just watched the interview and it is becoming apparent they dont know what they are doing. Why we cant play 2 up front is beyond me. The players we have dont seem to stick to a formation but when attack hump the ball forward for Porter to try to run on to and that gives the ball back straight to the opposition this happens every game. nothing is built from the back and players dont move forward to support any attack. Wellard flicked the ball on like he thought he had 2 playing up front. Porter works hard but doesnt score. I was shocked that Bakare and Porter didnt play as a front 2 with Bakare starting. Whats the point of being negative against a struggling team who havent picked up many points. Jamie Day tried to play positvely with a limited budget there must be a striker the club can afford who could get us the goals.
How much longer are we going to insist on shoehorning the captain into the team at the cost of playing Vidal out of position? He's not up to National standard, I'm at the point where I applaud him every time he controls the ball and passes to a teammate because it happens so rarely. Yesterday, after he was subbed, Vidal moved central and played more decent passes in the next five minutes than Wellard played all game, also Vidal was more involved in the game than he'd been all afternoon on the right. Who to play on the right? Where's Nortei? On loan at VCD? This is the lad who didnt look out of place on our winning run, even though he was out of position.
I agree with most of what has been said and that's a hopeful point by Graham quoted above. Yesterday's poor performance reminded me of the early season matches before 'that' unexpected run and improvement, so let's keep some faith, a win at Lincoln will see us reach the halfway stage of the league season with 26 points, and on target for the magical 50 and survival. No flying pigs going by right now!
But the suggested "amateur" tag is worrying, and it was not just limited to the pitch and management yesterday, from turnstile to match programme, the term "amateur" was appropriate. Voucher numbers appeared to have been changed from those published in the Forest Green programme, and anyone turning up with the wrong numbered voucher was given severe grief by the unwelcoming operative, at first word, admission was refused before he saw sense and relented, hardly customer friendly. Then "Faza's notes" leaf of my programme yesterday, contained his notes constructed prior to the Chester game which was played on 22nd September, and player stats up to that game too! Must have impressed Southport purchasers?
I hope the club will see fit to rectify these basic 'schoolboy error' matters, (with apologies to our younger readers) and take the opportunity to publish Faza's notes which should have appeared in yesterdays programme on the website, or am I asking a little too much on the technology side?
Disgruntled and today wondering why do I go! At least I got an acceptable real ale this week, well done to all on the beer festival by the way, a definite winner!
