Better, well done Wings - err, but the script says we usually pick up 3 points against the Imps! (Just teasing - so let's have that win on Sunday week!).
Poor goal to concede. Their bloke ran unchallenged from right back to left eing, passed it, got it back still unmarked and unchallenged and then shot straight through King from the edge of the box.
As for resting Vidal and Jefford, amateur would be far too polite. They've both now missed at least two games trying to avoid one game bans.
Wasn't there but listened to Radio Lincs. Another backs to the wall job but a point away from home when they've been in good form will have to do. First point they've had off us in 6 matches. God help us next week. Carlisle won again today. Up to sixth in league 2. COYW.

Still, one of the best semi-pro clubs in the country. A lower budget, I think, than any of the other teams in the same league a quite a few in the tiers below. Lower crowds than the rest of the National League teams, and quite a few in the tiers below. Six points above the relegation zone that, on paper, a club Welling's size would be expected to be mired in.
League clubs interested in the young talent in the team, in particular one player who was signed by the current management team. And another who was brought back into the side by, given the responsibility of captaincy at times and has blossomed under the present management. That's a management team who are still new to their jobs and learning their trade. Can't be all bad. Home FA Cup 2nd round tie against a league club next weekend to look forward. Nothing to lose there. FA Trophy draw this week(?)
The management team listened to the fans with regards to trying 4-4-2 and overall showed we're probably better of sticking to 4-3-3/4-3-1.
Hopefully the result has instilled a bit more confidence in the lads. We all know the squad have more than enough potential to get a result against Carlisle. As long as they give 100% in training and on the pitch there's no reason they can't pull off a "giant killing" in front of TV cameras and what will hopefully be a decent crowd.

I guessed from our starting line up that we played 3-5-2?

Sorry. SkySports were claiming it was a 4-4-2 formation.

Spot on. Think a lot of people on this forum need a reality check and understand how well they are doing and get behind them!

Sky Sports weren't there. How would they know?

yes we only have a small budget I get that but we have only had 6 wins and it looks worrying that we still cant score more goals particularly when we cant hold a 1 goal lead. From the commentary on the radio it looked like an all out assault by Lincoln. He did listen to the fans finally but as a fan I expect that we improve on last years place. we were in the same situation last year and then went on that awful run with Brown in charge I dont see anything that will get us to mid table which is the management teams benchmark of success
A point away from home is a good result, especially against a team higher in the league. I note that KSA came on as sub - so our goal scoring worries are over - I wonder?
A point away at a team in the top 5 is no bad thing. I thought King maybe could have kept out their goal but made a couple of excellent saves afterwards. Whilst we were under a lot of pressure in the last 15 or so minutes we still had chances to win it. A Lincoln fan on the train thought Wellard was excellent, just goes to show that it's all a matter of opinion.
