Has someone stolen my crack pipe? (not you Mark, good piece as always, I refer to one of the three clowns).
I like this quote;
"We've shown in the league against the so called big clubs, on our day, we can beat anyone. I think weve shown that in our performances."
I think something too, that that is totally tosh.
We haven't shown it in our results or performances, I'd like us to show it, but sadly the management play one up front, and not a very good one either, and rest our top scorer in big games, or play him out of position.
I'm off to get my rose-tinted specs re-calibrated ready for post-match interviews tomorrow.

I'm not sure who should be more "wee" prepared... The article states that we are, but I should think their supporters will be for when they start laughing at us...
Pray to god to take mercy on us, and for the amigos to play 442 with a left footer on the left a right footer on the right and two strikers whom play up front weather or not we have the ball.
God need not send any saints, ta.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh When the Wingssssss
Oh the memory of those days when a Friday evening was a time for confidence, for wondering by just how many goals we'd win by; and as for a cup game against a team from a lower league, that was a certain win and beer both before and after the game. Sadly those days are gone and I'm now wondering if we can manage to salvage a draw. We are told that the full team is available for selection, but that does not mean of course that the best players will actually make the team sheet.
But for some unknown reason I'll still be living in hope.
Am I the only person on this forum who thinks that maybe there's been a bit of an overreaction to one , albeit very poor, performance ok 2 if you throw in Southport, maybe 3 if you chuck in Guiseley as well

I have some sympathy with your view, Andrew - but not too much. I can accept the odd poor performance, we have a young side and results are bound to be erratic. However, it was not just the manner of defeat against Carlisle (and we played some nice football in parts) but the extraordinary team selection in the first place which left, on the bench, players who, in my opinion, could have done more damage to Carlisle. Players who had featured regularly in our team, players with flair and a player who had scored four goals against Grays who had been rested, seemingly, to avoid picking up a suspension. But the most annoying aspect of all this is the seemingly lack of justification and reasons advanced for the selection, or a 'hands up, we got it a mite wrong on the day'.

If you are looking at poor performances then I think you should add 4, - around at least half the games or more so far this season? There have been poor performances when we have got something from the game as much as poor performances when we haven't. As a football supporter I support Wings hoping for entertainment and to leave the ground saying, "that was money well spent", I only recall a couple of times this season when I have even started to feel that way.
So now the Trophy and following two first round exits will this be third time lucky? Sadly I find myself wanting to avoid the game and news of it. I had ignored the 'flavour' of this forum following last Sunday but I am still weeping at that extra thousand floaters who attended, and who I would imagine left at the end moaning "crap" and never to return, and all because of poor team selection and tactics. Opportunity lost like tomorrow could well be too?

I agree. I'm amazed by the molehill that so-called "supporters" are quickly turning into a mountain.

WingsTillIDie are you implying that I'm not a supporter? You may disagree with my opinion, and I respect yours, but to suggest that I and others are not real supporters is wrong.

Wingstillidie. As a supporter who has seen every game home and away this season, i'm more than entitled to my opinion about the club I have been watching for 25 years.
Had the club listened to you last season we would have Jody Brown still.

us the supporters are really concerned because it has been really bad this season and we are playing harder teams in the league soon and if we dont win we will be bottom 4
Wind must have been a factor, but what a shocking performance second half. Obviously took foot off pedal and nearly paid the price. Did Lee and Wellard help keep a tight midfield before they were substituted.
Yep a win is a win, but to be 4 up and scrape through by only 1 goal is disappointing, I know the conditions were not ideal, but we should have closed the game out.
What happened?, 3 goals conceded to a team in Ryman division 1 north is not very encouraging. Am not optimistic for the tough set of fixtures ahead, we'll be lucky to pick up any points I think.
