- appointing a mute, ineffectual player as captain.
- signing three "strikers" on inflated wages and then not even playing them.
- playing your best player, still top scorer, and general attacking threat of goals from midfield in 6 different positions, or benching him.
- given both your assistants contracts, when previous managers have had non-contract back-room staff.
- undermining yourself by being a "management team", and worsening it by allowing Matt Mc to do all the talking at training, in the dressing room and in interviews.
- refusing to accept any responsibility when things go wrong on the field, and blaming players for not following instructions and/or taking on information.
- starting Lee in every game he's eligible this season until our biggest game versus Carlisle and then dropping him.
- not selecting KSA all season and then bringing him back for Carlisle and dropping previous assets like Harris.
- starting the season with Tash and Kabba up top versus Guisley, with Porter on the bench, but just three weeks later reversing it and starting Porter and making Tash an unused sub,
- singling Taylor out for praise away to Barwell, and then not selecting him since, in some games, not even on the bench,
- refusing to sign a striker in the window, or being unable to, yet wasting what little we don't have to spend on players in positions we don't need,
- refusing to sign a striker of "the sake of it" because you want an established one not an academy one, when everyone else in the team in the main is 21-23 anyway,
Enough said, I was not at the match, but loosing to a team in the relegation zone of the league below us says it all. OK we were playing away, but surely we should have managed a draw. The team are just not functioning in the current arrangement. Clearly the Management Team don't know what to do, so it's down to the Board.
Next Saturday looks like another long session in the pub! it's certainly not worth going to watch another dismal performance.
dare I say, come back Jody Brown!!! It couldn't be any worse.
Thank you Moses. I do my best.
I take no joy from this but I called it after Carlisle. Had we acted earlier we could have put things right. Now, I fear, is too late, and we're on a dangerous downward spiral.
What manager, with no money to spend and all those players on contract he can't move out, would want the job.
I read Staines have had 30-40 applications for their job vacancy, we aren't/wouldn't even advertise ours!
Pathetic on and off the field.
- Never having subs warm up until we've already gone behind
- In a similar vein, watching a player get injured and not sending someone to warm up immediately. I recall two or three occasions where we have needlessly played 5+ minutes with 10 men
- Having more forwards than you can shake a stick at, then signing Bakare (who you must therefore consider better than what you have - you don't lack numbers, just quality) then rarely playing him.
- Bringing your only forward off today because he was "lacking quality", more like lacking service. A striker partner might help, perhaps? There's a novel idea. Porter has worked his nuts off most of the season but against Grimsby looked like he'd lost all motivation and was thinking "why do I even bother?".
- Failure to decide on a number 1 keeper and faffing around with King at the expense of your fellow Manager's brother
Appointing a team captain who most matches either goes missing or just going through the motions, where as players like Jefford, Corne and Porter run their socks off week in week out.
- dropped Lokko when he and Chambers were forming a brilliant partnership to give Osborne some games after he had a moan. Only to then see Osborne get sent off AGAIN in the next match.
Turning down Tyrone Marsh ( Who scored goals for us in the conference premier to sign Kabba who scored goals at a lower level who had to make a step up).
Signing Tashan and KSA on contract, not exactly proflic, why are they not on non contract.
Matt Mcentegart, you thanked me for my "Kind words" please come behind the goal next Saturday to hear my true thoughts. I invite you to have a chat to discuss your failings.

Resting some of our better players when we played against then fellow strugglers, to avoid possible cautions and subsequent bans for the 'big' cup games.
Resting players for the big games in the cup, then not playing Vidal, giving him the hump, who then moaned, so the management dropped him for bad attitude. Farcical.
