Very good coaches, hopefully they can get that extra 5-10% out of the players and with a few new tactics and hopefully an addition or 2, we may start rising up the league. Other teams have change their managers recently and got a few good results. Hopefully the same now applies to us.

Good luck to the new (old) team! They know the club inside out and were part of a very successful era at Welling. They have their work cut out but they should get all our support.

Let's hope they can beg/borrow/steal a couple of new faces and move out some of the dead wood at the same time.

#TEAMFAT

Excellent news. Let's hope they can get the lads back into the same mentality they had on the 4 game winning run, and get us back up the table.

Let's do our bit and get behind the team.

Well that's a surprise! (tee hee)

Welcome back Dean, Barry and JT, we're all behind you.

Stafford - I think JT had an operation on his back recently and his playing days are now behind him? Sure someone else can confirm

Welcome back to them all

its going to be tough to avoid the drop, but I'll certainly not miss a (home) match now that there is a fighting chance of at least trying.

onwards and Upwards !

Given the dent made to the club finances from the boycott on Saturday, I'd like to think that people will repay the club for listening to the fans (better late than never) by either taking up the Six Picks Offer, Kit/Match/Matchball Sponsorships, or even donate to Boost The Budget.

I know there's only a few days for the January Transfer Window but even if the new management team sign loaners or free transfers there'll be fees and wages to pay.

Yes, but I would imagine is untenable to keep him around. I suspect he'll be offered out on loan asap, or given the option to tear his contract up and sign for free elsewhere.

Sadly I think some of them are happy to sit on their ar$e and get paid for it (and that is our fault and not theirs sadly)

No nor I

the big change will be, I think, that Faz & Co were trying to be part of the team, best mates with everyone, but the new management will be properly in charge and not afraid of telling it as it is. Or I hope so anyway.

Rather than tear up the contracts we'd be better off offering them as part-exchange in a transfer.

As a hypothetical example (not trying to do a Jonathan Ackworth here) Freddie Ladapo has scored 9 in 10 appearances for Margate, has League One and National League experience, is only 22 and would be ideal for us. HOWEVER he apparently has a market value of £35k... which even with the FA cup money, assuming that hasn't already been spent, would be out of our reach.

BUT guess who else apparently has a market value of £35k?...KSA Believe it or not! And there lies one of the few benefits of having him on contract.

The enticement for Ladapo in joining us is that he could have six good months here, attract the attention of football league clubs and potentially make a move to the League in the summer. The attraction of KSA joining Margate, assuming they'd want him, is that he's more likely to get regularly football which unless he improves significantly in training, I can't see happening. Plus Margate are making a late push for play-offs.

As I said, completely hypothetical as this would all have to happen by 31st Jan... possible last minute deal??? confuse

Not the most reliable source but.... http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kieron-st-aimie/profil/spieler/52132

Like I said it's a hypothetical scenario but even part-exchanging him for someone else would be better than him going for nothing at the end of the season amd draining the wage bill in the meantime.

I have often read comments on here, many from yourself WingsTilIDie and thought that someone must be on crack. Either yourself, or me. Whilst I am often blunt, and have recently been negative, I don't think I have ever been delusional. Sadly you are.

To the best of my knowledge, and certainly in recent times, we have never paid for a player. I therefore think KSA dropping to a level or two below would be highly unlikely to command a fee, let alone 35k, which would make him our second most expensive sale ever. That's before you even entertain the fact that we can't find anyone to take him on loan for near enough peanuts. And that Pugh, Parkinson, Beautyman, Kedwell and many others have left the club for little more than 5-12k, and not even 35k combined, having been crucial key players, whereas KSA has been a boil on an incredibly ugly backside. KSA hasn't even featured as a sub in recent games. The man is worth nothing more than the paper his contract is written on, and I'd ask for a refund on that. I would let him go today for minus figures just to spite him.

Part-exchange in a transfer would suggest we make a transfer. We won't. We have little to no money. And that's before taking into consideration another club would have to want to sell their star players and/or take our duds off of us, and within the next six days before the window closes.

To compare Ladapo, who isn't even worth 35k himself, to KSA, other than stating they are both human beings, is madness. One is a footballer, the other is a con artist.

Ladapo could not have six good months here, our season ends at the end of April. That's three months. A last minute deal would also be done on Monday 1st Feb, not Sunday 31st Jan when the FA aren't open I suspect.

My only saving grace is that you acknowledge this magical 35k is "out of our reach". There is hope for you yet. As for your comments re: Acworth, at least he acknowledged he was mad.

I commend you on providing me with an early sign of what old age brings. Ten minutes ago I nearly pi55ed myself.

The iffy figures provided by Transfermarkt.co.uk are irrelevant. The purpose of the example I plucked out of thin air, is that we would be off shifting the deadwood forwards as a part-exchange in the transfer window for a better striker rather then letting them drain the wage bill for the rest of the season. As I and others have said, it most likely won't happen due to the limited time left in the transfer window. There was me hoping it might provoke some debate and discussion like a normal fans forum.

Amazing how I make a hypothetical proposal for shifting KSA and I still get set upon by the Father Jacks of this forum...

Mr A Realist, you said you've "recently been negative," it's worth pointing out you only joined early December and have done nothing but moan, saving many a Dartford and Ebbsfleet fan the job of trolling.

Some people simply need to cheer up instead of bloody moaning all the time. That goes for on as well as off the terraces.

A couple of people mentioned drugs. I'd suggest they'd see their doctors about getting a prescription for Diazepam.

Indeed that website appears irrelevant. A part exchange will only happen if we have money to offer, which we don't, and players others will take on, which I doubt, irrespective of the fees involved

It's hypothetical, so why state it. KSA being paid for is impossible.

Hiw ironic you mention ebbsfleet having been a paid member there before. My forum joining date does not correlate to my welling fan becoming date.
