I thought he was clueless today. Throughout the first half he let players take throw ins and free kicks at least 10 yards from where they were and then in the second half started to pull players up on it? He didn't give us anything and should have dished a couple more yellows out for Cheltenham instead of talking to them. Thought the 4 minutes were up as well when they scored. The ref also allowed himself to be berated after the final whistle by about 5 Cheltenham players - should have branded yellows then.
This is the same mug who overruled a penalty for us when the Lino had a good view and gave a drop ball?
It seems to happen in every league, the "top" side getting the breaks and benefit of any doubt. But there was way too much added time played, well over 5 minutes by my watch.

I'm always amazed by how few people know the meaning of the word "minimum", as in "a minimum of 4 minutes will be played"

Have you ever listened to the announcement? The referee indicates a minimum of x minutes. It is precisely that, a minimum. He is supposed to add 30 seconds for any goals scored, substitutions or bookings. I wasn't there and don't know what other stoppages there were after 90 minutes but unfortunately playing to the 95th minute does not seem excessive given we are supposed to have scored in the 91st.
If you wanted to be peeved about late goals in games we have played in go and have a chat to the good folk of Raunds Town!
Just as a point of interest the actual rules of the game don't mention "minimum", just that the added time will be indicated by the 4th official.
It is, of course, entirely a matter of judgement for the ref to decide when he feels the correct duration of play has occurred, including the added time indicated and any other time he considers appropriate.
if we had equalised in the 95th minute I'm sure I'd feel the ref had judged it correctly, however .................

Except, with the other rules, it has to be a minimum as you are just as likely to get the events that require the addition of time in stoppage time as any other.
I thought the Cheltenham Number 4 (sorry referee) officiated the game poorly.
However, when we scored in the 91st minute the celebrations on and off the field were well in excess of 30 seconds, so I don't think we can cry about that to be honest.
I get more annoyed at places like Braintree where the time wasting has always been of epic proportions and the officials never add on more than three or four minutes tops.
