I think you will find that is the final list! Everyone has gone except those 4 players. Let's just now hope MG can bring in the players he has targeted. Going to be a new Welling next season and I'm all for it. Hopefully some more experienced players added to the mix, cannot have another young squad.
I think he's kept some of the key players, other go course may have decided to leave and try and stay playing in the National league, I doubt they will make it. We certainly need a better mix of age and experience, but that was what Wellard was supposed to provide wasn't it? Going to be interesting seeing the team build towards the first friendly.
Harry lee and lokko will be looking to play at a higher level, as well as nortey and all three probably will. The rest will struggle to find a team higher. I would of liked to see vidal being given a chance in the south as a number 10, Personally I think faz and Co destroyed him playing out of position and being dropped for no apparent reason. Impressed that porter has stayed, and fair play to him, with a good team around him he could terrorise a few defences next season.
If you are a center back having someone like that around you for 90 mins is unnerving...plenty of opportunities to force mistakes and capitalise on it. A bit like cumbers used to.
Beggars and choosers.....we are errrr hardly money rich are we

Wakey, wakey. We're going to have an owner/chairman/manager. When have that breed ever not thrown money at it?
Sorry to disagree with you Russ but MG is a football man unlike some of those who have tried to buy both the National and South (no idea what goes on tup north). I would be very surprised if he were the type to throw at the club. Reading the press and seeing him on wings tv freeview I get the impression of a sensible time for the club both on and off the pitch rather than a chuck a lot of dosh around for a quick fix.
I tend to agree, I don't think we will see too much money thrown around, but hopefully enough!
I also think that a lot of interest from MG has to be on the development plans which could give him a big personal profit, or loss, so the football is perhaps a means to an end.
But at the end of the day he is still a football man so the team should benefit.
My view is that there will be a bit more than we usually have although he hasnt actually taken over the club unless I have missed it
Build a side that challenges near the top and we will all be happy
When MG takes over i hope we as fans don't lose The Welling United we know. The new players need to know what we the fans did to save the club, That they won't be playing in front of thousands of fans each week, but a few hundred, but they will be there each Saturday. Also we need a Lee Clarke character as a captain, who leads on and off the field. As this has been missing for the last two season, a bit of players and fans interaction after the game, a bit of acknowledgement from the player specially away games, how many times did joe Healy come in the bar and offer to buy us a drink, admittedly it was after he had been sent off.
But most importantly i want to see player who want to play for the shirt their team mates the fans the CLUB
Oh and be nice to have clean toilets with locks on the doors for the men and women
I am a bit sceptical (glass is always half empty rather than half full when it comes to WUFC!) but I have listened to his interviews and spoke to him briefly after the Boreham Wood game and he came across in the right way. Of course he is a businessman and is in to make money - why on earth wouldn't he be?!
In the short/medium term we need to progress off the pitch more than on it in my humble opinion. I don't envisage silly money being thrown around but obviously we want/need to be competitive at National South level. It is no good having a brilliant team if we don't have the infrastructure to support it off the field and something can hopefully eventually become self sustainable. Like others have mentioned I don't want to lose the identity of our club along the way and the link between fans and players, which has been one of our strengths over the years, needs to be rediscovered and developed.
Our club needs to be dragged into the 21st Century and this might well be our best chance of doing so. I will be watching developments carefully like most Welling fans but I will give MG the benefit of the doubt. If I like what I see then I will of course support him 100% - if I don't then I will come on here and moan about it like I normally do!

This is almost exactly what he said to me, both when being recorded and when speaking about his plans. He wants a team that will be 'there or thereabouts' but believes he has the contacts and experience to build the squad without 'breaking the bank'.
Am a bit surprised one or two of the better players haven't been offered terms. Even if Lokko, Chambers, Lee and Nortey want to play higher than South we could at least have got some compo for them. We'll need players as good if not better if we're not interested in them. Porter, if he stays, needs to show a lot more at South level in terms of threat than he has in the National. Nowhere near a Cumbers at present. Will Barney and Corne be targeted despite being under contract I wonder.
Spitey....they may have been and we are awaiting their decisions....retained means they are staying...others are maybe thinking about it
Not so Mark. The retained list is those players offered a contract renewal, in writing, on the same or not less favourable in overall terms for the following season which could be a stumbling block in terms of some players now that we've dropped from the National to the South Division.
The Club's news item on the website is somewhat unclear since it is headed retained list i.e. those who have been offered renewal of their contract and in the body states that they have retained the services of George Porter and Joey Taylor. What is clear is that these two players have been offered a renewal of their contract but I've not seen confirmation that they have signed as yet. They have 28 days from the receipt of the written notification to advise the Club in writing whether or not they accept the offer.
I believe that the absolute deadline for making written offers of retention was last Friday (6th).

If I remember correctly MG will not actually take over ownership until the Planning permission for the development is in place. that means, I assume, he will be working as the team manager within the same financial constraints as Faz had 12 months ago. Please tell me I'm mistaken as Planning could take months / years to achieve.
Would be nice to get a bit of clarity over the situation, we're all just guessing at what's going on at the moment!
Young Barry's boardroom notes in the Boreham Wood programme mentioned that the Board was considering a proposal by MG to take a "stake/ownership" of WUFC. It stated that nothing had been finalised and that when it had been, and due process had been followed, then the club would make a further announcement.
