Ebbsfleet will be buying championship league players next season if they don't go up. They haven't exactly run away with things in the last 3 years have they?
If it goes like it did in the National it will be Ebbsfleet over Christmas and the New Year with the Darts getting Margate. But with our luck we will get the gate when there are no trains.

Well we'll have to hope that del boy hasn't fitted the coach radio or that 35 of us can find a b&b. Mrs Creswells anyone?
So am I right in saying that The football league currently do not allow plastic/artificial pitches? If so, Maidstone are not going to get much further.

3G pitches weren't allowed in the National League until the prospect of Maidtone getting promoted to it.
I gaurantee you the goal posts will move again (pardon the pun) and the FA will allow 3G pitches in League Two from the 2017/2018 season....
In fairness they're already permitted in the Champions League.

I think the Champions League rule is only because of teams who suffer severe winters (i.e. Russia). There are concerns and studies going on at the moment due to the toxic levels in the rubber pellets - be interesting to see what they find out.
To me it's purely about the football - the ball just doesn't act like it does on grass. If you want to install a 3G pitch to generate income at a cost of 600k you might as well buy some flats (anywhere) and rent them out and get a return when they're sold. I just don't see how much revenue you can generate when you would likely train on it and play on it, plus you would have to re-install the 3G pitch over time.

It does help in allowing you to run the snow plough up and down the pitch at half time as happened at Tromso v Rosenborg a few years back. Preferable to the alternative if anyone remembers Tromso v Chelsea in 1997!
