Jay Saunders at Maidstone reckons he's landed a coup in the signature of Lokko (he's probably right) in that he thought we'd 'keep him' having spoken so highly of him (previous regime perhaps!). No idea whether there was any interest in holding onto him but anyway Maidstone are higher than us now and no doubt pay better too.
Thought we might have offered him lesser terms due to the relegation though it would have been a kick in the teeth to such a consistent performer.
The defence certainly fell apart at the end though relegation had been confirmed. They kept us in it most of the season what with our non-existent attacking prowess.
Harsh on Lokko who's landed on his feet anyway at Maidstone and stays in the National Premier unlike us!
Despite how good technically some of our players were I think MG saw things he didn't like. Not saying that was the case with Lokko (as I don't know) but no doubt some of last season's lot didn't have the right attitude, desire etc.
Given how the team "gave up" for the last few matches, I can understand why MG has decided to opt for his own squad. Time will tell if he's been able to gather together the players to gel together and be a force to be reckoned with in C South.
