Would you guess the starting line up will be Saturdays Polo?

Quite possibly. Although Slabber has come close to scoring twice I would prefer Jonte Smith up top alongside Crawford.

Pleased with tonight's performance. Especially in the first half. Corne and Waldren work really well together in midfield and Crawford stood out.

Optimistic ahead of Saturday's opener!

Francis & Lea**** were very solid. Hatton worked really hard and Crawford is looking very impressive.

Yep agreed, looked very organised amd up for the game, spoke to Francis after the game and he was very positive about his partnership with lea**** even though only been 1'1/2 games. Seems a nice bit of team spirit too, he said they have had a night out together and had a good laugh etc, players mingling and having a drink after the game speaking to fans...it all creates a good atmosphere around the place that we missed last season.

Very optimistic about the new season. Spoke to a few Millwall fans and they only had good things to say about our new look PVR. Team wise, there are more than a few showing promise. This squad looks like it might have a bit about it. Very pleased with tonight, very enjoyable game.

A fine performance by the Wings. A good first half, but the youngsters did exceptionally well in the second half - a promising combination between Jonte and Bobby and I like the central defender Julian Banton.

I feel the squad are now showing really positive signs of becoming a very good team, and it was a pleasure to see them mingle with the supporters after the game last night. Let's all pull together and cheer them on each game as they appear to be giving their best efforts and our support will give them the encouragement they deserve. Really looking forward to Saturday. Come on you Wings!!!!!

Hatton won't be happy you haven't given him his penalty especially as, after last night, he is now the reigning rock/paper/scissors champion.

Hard to assess the team on the friendly results but at least we have a bigger, physical more grown up team this season as opposed to the weak kids we fielded last season. Not sure Hatton is a wide player and he can leave his full back exposed at times but he is good on the ball and delivers a good set piece which can be vital at this level. I can see us playing 4-5-1 at times with him tucking in alongside Waldren and Corne who has been our most impressive performer in the pre season games that I have seen. Not sure what the best combination of strikers is but they are all better (and offer different options) than the shower we had last season.

My number one concern is that this is a completely new team and despite a number of friendlies it is still going to take them some time to gel and for MG to work out the best combinations. This is a tough league physically as we know from past experience and with over a quarter of our league season done and dusted by the middle of September we need to try and hit the ground running.

That is true, to an extent, but the year we won the league we were probably no better than mid-table at the end of September.

Considering they had not played together before, I thought the two centre halves were excellent as a partnership and Nelson was outstanding at right back.

Having so many potent options up front is a revelation after last season and Welling have been awarded more penalties in this pre-season than in the last two seasons of league football.

Couldn't agree more.

Think his hold up play and eye for a decent pass puts him able to hold his own in a higher league than this.

this and his ability to want the ball when not in possession.

i know the season has yet to have a ball kicked, but like the look of us at the moment, and at 12/1 with bet365, am on.
