A supporter of the club for many many years has his birthday bash at the club and the drink prices are increased. £4.30 for a Fosters instead of £3.80 during today's game. At £4.30 it's £1 more than the same drink in the Guy or the Nags. A Gin and Tonic goes up by £1.
I understand that the club is doing fantastic business and doing well with the various functions. But to leave the bar for an hour and to have the drinks prices increased, especially when the bar is full of your own supporters leaves a bit of a sour taste.

It sounds like they are trying to charge central London prices which will not work in Welling. Also it's pretty poor that you still can not pay for drinks with a bank card.

I know that they want to make money for ground improvements etc but actually hitting their own fans pockets is not acceptable. I have been a fan for 30+ years and cant believe they are ripping us off. £7.50 for a double vodka and soda is disgusting

Think the people who do the bar in the day also work for the club, and then there are bar staff at night..... there will be a logical reason for it.
Wouldn't you prefer the club to make money at night, from non-footballing events, taking into account that any other venue in the local area would charge a premium for use of a fully fitted function room etc.

If the bar charged subsidised prices for fans during the day fair enough as they could get a discount due to the entrance fee, buying a programme etc. But it's pricey even then. £3.80 a Fosters, £4 a Kronenberg. Way too much for our area and when you add on more it's a rip off. Maybe if you never went to a game and only attended a private function then you wouldn't know the 'daytime' prices but you would still know you're in a bar in Welling and not central London.
£3.80 for a pint of John Smiths is way too much when for around 60-80p less you can have a quality Real Ale in The Door Hinge.
The point I made was that in the day the can rely on the paid staff and MG's daughter, but at night the expenses or simply opening (Electicity etc etc etc) are not incidental charges, as they are when there is a match on.
I don't know the answer, but just think at night there are different rates of pay and costs.
£3.80 sounds a bit much for ale, but £4 for a pint of larger sounds reasonable IMO......
When booking the bar for an event the fee covers the overheads you mention... Electricity etc etc etc.
So therefore the price of the drinks should not be altered to compensate this at all.
If you was in a pub drinking and then went into its function room for a said function and found the price to be different I think you would soon be in the landlords ear.
Where the club falls here is it seems they either didn't recognise that it was an event for a Supporter or the club didn't care.
Lastly (if i am wrong I apologise) I cant recall seeing a Bar Tariff on display which by Law should be at all times.

Or they could have just done the simple expedient on taking the booking 9f why it would be higher. You then factor that in to your decision to book and are not surprised and offended when it occurs. Or is that just too bloody simple?
After all I presume the point of us upping our game commercially is that we want repeat business...

I am currently in a airport hotel which are not noted for their low prices, however at £6.90 they certainly undercut the rip off above.
