Great match of real quality, well worth getting wet and cold for. With Coombes long term tenure I doubt it was good to see others getting on the score sheet. Just have to now wait and see if we are allowed to play the same against teams higher in the league!
A very very comfortable win. I think we should use the old adage "you can only play against what's in front of you" and I am sure management, players and supporters are all fully aware that what was in front of us on Sunday was not very good at all.
Still our lads should be gaining in confidence after a run of good results and performances and the likes of Brown and Hatton (who rightly came in for some criticism earlier in the season) have certainly upped their game in recent weeks.
We have now reached the top of the little seven team mini league at the bottom of the table but are still only two points ahead of the final relegation place. There is a little points gap above us and the next target should be to reduce this gap. Hemel are in the next group above us and are on a decent run themselves at the moment. They will clearly provide a much sterner test this weekend than we have faced in the last two games but there is no reason not to be positive and to try and keep this run going.
Well said wingnut, the next few games will certainly not be as straightforward as the last two. We will probably be looking at a result of only the odd goal, or a draw away from PVR, one major plus to take from the recent games is the way it helped the goal difference, our plus figure must be worth half a point against the teams near us.
I think the rest of our season will be determined by whether or not we can keep hold of key players, and by how the rest of the team reacts to any players moving on. Morale is certainly very high at the moment and it needs to be kept that way. Incidentally, I see the Gills have sacked Justin Edinburgh - wonder whether Ade Pennock would be interested in the job? From a selfish point of view, I hope he does not take Jamie with him if he applies and gets the Gillingham job!
