Lee Clarke would get my vote, with an experienced number 2. I think he could inspire this team and have some decent contacts.
Really?
Notihng against Lee at all, great player and captain for us. Great lad too. But, no management experience, no coaching experience, and not local so therefore less likely to have local Kent and SE London contacts.
Embarrassing recommendation from a Director of the club. No offence Matt, but is that what we are aiming for?

Frankly we could all even probably get our head around it being Jason Matthews if it was successful. That is not really the issue. If they are inexperienced they have to buy time to get that experience, which in this context, is minimum 4th bottom at the end of the season. They also then have to show they are using that acquired experience productively, which the three amigos didn't, or you are back to square one. We are assisted by Margate looking like they are going to take one place but, as it is not a gimme we'd come straight back if we got it wrong, you can see why there is a reasonably strong view for an experienced hand.
The obvious counterpoint to which is, what did we start the season with....
