First 15 they had most possession, but we came back into it. Wealdstone keeper made 2 excellent saves at full stretch to keep it at 0-0

Gallant effort by Welling.
Bolstered by the clowns hoping for crosses to end up on the main road.

Well I was disappointed, a lot of effort and a lot of character shown; but we missed Coombes as someone who could put the ball in the net.

Anyone who can put their hand on heart and say we didn't deserve at least a point out of that, is a liar.
We were never going to be the same shaped team after recent departures, but thought that was a good honest committed performance.
if anyone can doubts the commitment today, I would like to hear your views.

yes ,my view is u watched a completely different game, Or you can only remember the last 10/15mins when yes ok we looked a little better. Other than that we were terrible and half our players have touches that people get locked up for.

I can't say it was terrible but it is evident that Adam Coombes's 34 goals papered over many many cracks. Apart from that he was a very good hold up player. Hold it up, lay it off, move into space. I didn't see either Walker or Crawford do that today. We had a few decent pot shots but nothing clear cut was created. Just not good enough I'm afraid. M.O.M Jordan Brown. He didn't give the ball away once..

Agree we should have got more out the game first half the keeper made two goal bound saves and when he was beaten there defender headed of the line. Second half we were getting decent crosses into the box that we should have put away at least two. On another day one may have gone in.

Having said that it was not a classic game and like most wonder where the goals are going from post Adam Combes' for the remainder of the season.

Lets hope they (the duo) are looking for a striker right now....there must be some league youngsters that would like a loan for a couple of months

Hahahahaha. The only thing they're looking for is the next tree to pi$$ up when Goldberg takes them out for a walk.

Right now id choose getting a new manager over a new striker, one who knows what sort of players we need to sign. My hopeful retained list for next season is geyt smaller every week, some of the wahes we are paying for the sort of football we are getting served up is a disgrace. We have no idea other than punt it forward.

So frustrating to lose to a a very average side in my opinion. Had to be Wellard who did absolutely sod all during his time with us. If Walker is our striker until the end of the season then we should be very worried, he is simply not good enough at this level. Losing Nannetti creativity and Coombes goals is obviously hurting us. I just pray the club are looking to bring in a striker on loan from higher leagues as we desperately need one! Although I am worried the wages freed up from the two I mentioned has gone on our two new wingers.

Tristan Lewis stated, after the match, that they hope to have a new striker in before Tuesday's game. There could even be two of them.

I couldn't agree more. After Wealdstone's goal yesterday, Lewis immediately went over to where Goldberg was in the stand and spoke to him, presumably to get advice on what to do. After conceding a goal you'd expect a manager to give instructions to players, perhaps look at making a substitution, not go straight over to talk to a part-owner of the club.

Depends where from!

Misfits from a Ryman Div 1 South is not quite what we need right now

Essential that we keep up the pressure, we are still in (or very, very near) the relegation battle and any complacency could have dire results. One Welling supporter on Saturday tried to persuade me that we were "still too good to be relegated" I have to disagree. So we must find a replacement for Coombes a months loan to see us through March might be enough?

I can assure you that there is no way that the current management team believe we are safe. Tristan Lewis remembers Maidenhead winning six out of their last eight to survive. He was very keen to point out that believing that there are three teams worse than us won't work.

The current squad, plus a Coombes replacement, is good enough to survive as long as they work hard and play to an organised shape.

Probably but it is sad we are even discussing the R word....we should have been at least top half after being relegated last year instead poor management...errr again and we are in the ****e with the biggest budget we have had for a while if not ever

I got told at stortford that we are now focusing on building for next season, then our (and i use this word loosely) manager says hes not interested in job long term....If someone at my work said they aint interested in doing there job id find someone else the next day.
We need a proper manager asap to 1 assess what we currently have and need and 2 start making his own team, id be disappointed if either two are at the club next season.

Apart from sticking the ball in the netty thing, I didn't think the performance on Saturday was as bad as some are making out. In the first half the keeper pulled off two decent saves from Hatton and Waldren and it seemed the rest of our team then decided to shoot on sight from the most ridiculous of positions. Once or twice a simple pass and we could have created far more opportunities. Karagiannis looked a threat out wide although RMW on the other wing looked like he had never played football before. It's a big ask to replace Coombes overnight but Walker is simply not a natural centre forward. He wants to drift out wide all the time and I said it earlier in the season that there seems to be a force field around the penalty spot/six yard area which prevents him from entering that part of the pitch?!

Second half was almost a role reversal for the wingers. Karagiannis was not in the game (apart from missing one glaring chance) whilst RMW was a constant threat, took his man on and crossed three or four excellent deliveries which could/should have lead to at least one goal. Coombes or no Coombes there were chances that should be taken by any player at this level. Having said all that, we still should still have been walking away from that game fed up at only getting a point never mind nothing. Shoddy defending and failure to clear the ball (a common theme this season) and our ex captain has a free header and we've lost the game.

I am not confident about tomorrow at all and we have to play all the current top six in our last dozen games. I saw D******* play the other week and they are nothing special at all. However what they will be is big, strong, well organised and  have a game plan. I am not sure we have any of those attributes in our current team/squad/management and I fear we will get bullied all over the park...

Now it is down to our lot to prove me wrong.

Nothing there that we don't know already. Lewis is running the academy next season so won't be able to manage the first team. I get the impression it's all about seeing the season out and then reviewing the situation in the summer with regards to a new manager.

Then we will wait until pre season to get a new manager, who in turn will want his own players and they womt be ready in time, resulting in the same crap start we had this season.
Pro active is clearly a phrase not banded around PVR to often.

I also get the impression that we are drifting, or rather sleepwalking, into next season.

However there is a small matter of this season to finish off - 12 games left including facing 8 out of the current top 9 in the league who, with doubts surrounding the participation of some in the play offs, will all have something to play off starting with the black and white s***e tomorrow night. We might have 32 points and I am sure there are three worse teams than us out there and maybe an expulsion from HMRC and/or ground grading committee to come. However we have lost our (only) goal threat, we have a very lopsided squad and we have just scrambled an undeserved point last week against a team that has now lost 13 of their 16 home games this season...

Therefore would it to be much to ask for just a tad more effort and attitude geared towards the current season (in case we start 2017/2018 in the Ryman Premier....) before we actually write it off.

Under JD we built a more than decent team and just made a few tweaks at the start of the season to try and improve it. This lot needs more than a few tweaks allied to a manager who a) is not part of a "team", b) might actually want the job and c) is not a lap dog.
