4-1 very harsh vs a side containing a fair few first teamers. We looked decent in periods and were knocking on the door to equalise at 2-2. Subs killed our organisation and we shipped 2 late goals. A good work out and just what we needed but we seemed more like a team tonight. i am encouraged by that tonight.

I thought the result was unfair to Welling although fair play to their lad who scored a screamer for the third.

At 2-1 we did look the better side for a bit. Going forward I think we look decent, there were a couple of times though that we looked a bit shaky at the back but that should develop over time.

Looking forward to Truro on Saturday!

A moral boosting 3 points Saturday would be great....pretty much the first game against a team at our level....pre season is what it is....getting in shape

Do you think he knows his best team?

Not nice to concede 12 in the last three friendlies (regardless of the opposition) and certainly some defensive frailties last night. Having said that the third goal was an absolute worldy and the fourth after a number of substitutions had taken place. Also we probably won't face the speed and movement on offer from Millwall last night against most National South sides. A few observations

Nanetti clearly needs game time - he is a threat but decision making still needs to improve. Also why oh why do we continually swap wingers so we have a left footer on the right side and a right footer on the left?! I don't mind it for ten minutes here or there but it certainly nullified the threat of Pattison last night when he was switched to the left wing.

Nice to see Healy back but I wonder with him and Parky in central midfield whether we might lack some "legs" especially against some teams who might play three in there?? I thought Dymond was a midfielder but was told last night that he is/was a right back during his early years at Palace and will fill that position for us. Mmmm.......

Goldberg looked sharp and when we get the ball into him he can make things happen. Looked like a half each audition for the starting role up top last night and both lads did alright - makes a pleasant change to have centre forwards who work hard for their teammates and can win a few headers after some of the players we have had there in recent seasons....

Hopefully a positive result at the weekend and the results in the friendlies will soon be forgotten.

Up the Wings!

All very true wingnut, especially the bit about legs in midfield, I have said that since the start of pre season and has been evident throughout. As technically gifted as parkinson are healy are they are not the quickest of players. I beleive we will have a lot more knowledge of opposition teams this year so when needed maybe we will switch to a 3 in the middle.

That was Noah Chesmain who played on loan for Welling a couple of years ago.

Connor Dymond is going to be captain this season according to the interview by Jamie after the Millwall game with Sean Francis to be vice captain.
