Strange decision for me to drop Bradbrook. We are looking very light upfront.

Awful performance so far. Second to balls and Hampton up for it more. Phipps is not a striker so odd he has been deployed there.

Too much long ball. We were only a threat on set pieces.

Worst performance of the season. No shape, desire, commitment. Nothing. Worst boos I have heard at the end of a game so far too. Doom and gloom. Team selection did not help. Why does Nanetti not start? MOM for me and he only played part of the second half. Says it all!

Durojaiye was MOM. Commited, positionally aware, good going forward and head and shoulders a better right back than Gayle. Not that it's Gayles fault. Put him in at centre back and drop Parkinson. He was bloody awful again. It's about time he won a header isn't it. A centre half that doesn't head the ball. Bloody hell. I'm getting bloody sick of this lack of commitment. H&RB were at it all afternoon. We got stuck in once or twice in each half. Hopeless absolutely hopeless.

Completely agree about Nanetti. It was obviously earlier in the season that he was a little unfit but the answer to that must be to play him. Instead we have got in Monkana on loan who is also unfit. The decision to play Phipps up front backfired spectacularly. All 3 of our best chances fell to him and he headed strsight at the keeper each time. Perhaps Bradbrook was n't fit enough to start but we had lloyd and pjd on the bench. The cynic in me wonders whether Coyles job at Maidscum means he cares more about giving their lad minutes rather than our own.

Hopeless

it may be a different team but a performance as bad as any we watched last season

surely it's obvious that Goldberg is not a target man to win the big kicks up from the back, he needs the ball played through on the ground, then he can frighten defence, but not today, he did keep challenging for the long balls, but was never going to win any.

it was said on here a few weeks ago that they would need 5 games to settle in and then we'd see the quality, well .............

some serious decisions and management now needed

Same **** different season, Parkinson is **** and should be dropped, Goldberg will score goals given the chance but not if he's the main man up front, he needs the ball to feet. The loan players brought in are no better than we have already so why bring them in? Taking off Jeb and replacing him with Nannetti, WTF are they thinking. Monakana off and Nannetti on would have been a better change. Overall total **** yet again. 3 more games to sort it out then if it's no better bye bye Coyle and Parkinson.

Just a thought, but has Jamie Coyle got total control over choosing new players, team selection and tactics? Remember, also, that he is our leading goalscorer!

The fact that he's the leading goal scorer highlights the problem, we've scored 9, take away JC's 4 and the penalty means our forwards have not exactly been prolific! Meanwhile, in 7 games we've leaked 11, meaning the defence is none to secure either. Meanwhile the mid field have been ineffective because of all the long balls from the back missing them out!

Perhaps I'm being too simplistic or perhaps I should be in The Hinge a little longer and view the match through blurred vision?

I wish I could have been at The Hinge today, and stayed! Indeed, I wish I could have been at the match (despite the result).

Totally agree about the loan players. They don't seem to be better than what we already have. Barnes aside obviously.

In my opinion there is some rather hysterical over reaction on here tonight. Most clubs build year on year and have a core of players they carry forward. Today we had precisely nobody starting from last year's squad -  I am not complaining for one minute about that but it does mean starting from scratch this season.

I think we have some decent players at the club but, as yet, we don't have a team. Like many I was baffled at the tactics in playing a midfielder at centre forward and thumping it skywards throughout.  The two subs Durojaiye and Nanetti were the only ones who did themselves justice for me today and the former should be the starting right back all day long.

Us Welling fans are generally a tolerant lot - we will put up with plenty but not a lack of effort or desire. In the first half we didn't win third or fourth balls today never mind the first or second ones! We had a bit of a go second half but all from set pieces and nothing from open play.

Calling for wholesale changes on and off the pitch is not the answer - we had that all last season and I don't want to go back there again. Give the current regime support and time to put things right.

Up the Wings (sooner rather than later) hopefully!

We weren't at it and it was fairly comfortable for Hampton to see it out, and if we aren't at it and don't want to keep the ball and pass and move and get on top we aren't a threat.

Phipps looked our only player likely to score he hit the target three times and hes not a striker i think its harsh to rip into him. Hampton were dire and a set piece did us, clever flick on and you take them on the chin. Parky and Coyle are our best two centre backs, its not even up for debate. Olu is impressive, play him anywhere and he does well, he gives everything. Hes doing everything he needs to do to get a start. We have the players they just need to play with a swagger and work for each other and want the ball. Our undoubted quality will come through.

Nanetti will probably be near fitness now or soon, you could see he was not fit earlier in the season. Calling for changes and drop him or hes ****, is laughable.

Tempo, desire and keep the ball and we won't lose too many games in this league especially at home where we should be imposing ourselves on teams.

To build a solid team you start at the back.
This starts with the goalkeeper.
The key thing that makes a decent one is being able to command your penalty area.
Being able to catch anything that is put in there.
This then relieves pressure on defenders and builds confidence.
That is where I would start.

No reason centre back shouldn't be up for debate. Our defensive record not exactly the best. Parkinson a shadow of his former self so far in my view but can't see him being dropped anytime soon. Personally feel that a fit Gayle is a strong contender for centre back.

At 13:05 Hugo says we currently have 4 players in on loan. So that's Dillion Barnes, Jeffrey Monakana, Harry Phipps and who else? I thought Jack Jebb was a permanent signing?

I can answer my own question. He's on loan. It's still only August and we are starting 4 loan players despite having no injuries nor suspensions. A complete shambles.

Correct Chris.....we really should have our OWN team....but year after year this happens....the keeper is really the only valid one I guess
