I understand from Barrie that the FA youth cup against Dover will be next Monday 16th October k.o. 19.30
I hope as many as possible can get along to support our Academy. We will be there with the shop but to save your disapointment our four legged shop assistant will not be coming to this game.
I have been told our outstanding order for replica kits are due to be delivered this week. If I do get them those of you who have ordered can collect on Monday if you wish.
I believe their is an Academy game tonight but the shop will not be open.
Full time score would be appreciated as had to leave early . Sorry for missleading fans over admission price I was asked to put that on forum yesterday but the person giving the details got it wrong.
Good game that, their fans were idiots which made me even more glad we won.
Quite a few welling there too and if we get a home or local away the would be nice to see that number rise again, it's a great achievement for them in such a short space of time and you could see at the end what it ment to them.
Got to call out some class performances as well as Ollie-thought the hench midfielder was awesome in breaking play down and playing some deft balls...the keeper worried me all game but his performance in the shoot out was immense despite missing his pen.....great game boys well done....was as exciting as a first team game !!
Really enjoyed that & pleased what people have about the Dover support & coaching staff. The linesman made an honest (but big) mistake & the ref was called a cheating C by there player & coach so the correct decision was made. I thought the ref was pretty good for someone so young, It would have been interesting to see what reaction the Dover staff would have given the Ref if they had scored from a brilliant decision by him to play the advantage rule when one of there players had been fouled.
Well done to the young welling lads.
Well done to the young wings and their manager Tristian Lewis. I'm not sure we'd have got through had one of their lads not been sent off so early but we showed a bit of heart and spirit to keep going and get through.
It must be quite some time since we've had a youth team get through three qualifying rounds to make the first round proper.
COYW!

Agreed that the sending off was a turning point in the game, however, you can only play what is in front of you and the young Wings did this really well. Their approach play was good, and may have borne more fruit but for a "habit" of taking 30 yard speculative pot shots. However, no one can can doubt their commitment and they are, after all, young lads learning their trade. Congrats to the whole squad, I am sure that Tristran will keep, them on their toes for the next round.
I must also say that the Dover goal was a superb strike that the goalkeeper stood no chance with and our goal seemed worthy of a second look (if Tom puts them on Twitter). Finally, what is for sure that most of the penalty taking at PVR of recent times, whether it be the FA cup of FA Youth Cup, has left a lot to be desired. Last night I think it was 3 in 10.

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.

From my vantage point I thought the ball was over the line but calling the referee/linesman a f****** liar is not a good idea and a red card was inevitable as it was for the manager whose conduct throughout the first half was pathetic - if that's the example he sets then there is little wonder his player got sent off.
Even with 10 I thought Dover were the better side and we didn't use the width of the pitch and make use of our extra player enough. Tristan was clearly getting frustrated at the speed of the build up play and some of the decision making in the final third but that is always going to happen with young players. I though the little lad (14) who came on made a difference and the centre forward Milton has something about him although he needs to appreciate his teammates around him at times.
Our lads stuck at it and I hope they get a good draw in the next round and if it is a home draw on a Monday night then I hope they get a few more there to watch them.
It seems that most people who had a good vantage point thought that it was over the line and that it was a poor decision. You can almost understand the number nine's frustration but he crossed the line so deserved to go. Their manager cannot be excused. He shouted 'you're f*****g s**t' at the referee several times and was warned more than once but just wouldn't let it go. I agree that substitute Sam Leach looked good, just as he did when he came on at Corinthian Casuals.
