Very poor today. Not the least bit unluck. 7 games now without a win. Our start to the game was pathetic, if Coyle cant get the team motivated for a Boxing Day local derby then hes in the wrong job.

Goals from a free-kick and a penalty say lots about us at the moment.
At least Welling saw in the second half what their starting XI should be when Bradbrook came on. Even at one down early on, I thought we responded well. Romain played well and was man of the match for me.
Enough to be encouraged about especially with Joe to come back. We need to work on creating more.
First half was poor but I liked the passion shown in the second half and we nearly nicked a draw against the top of the League team. Coyle and Healy will improve that team for the next game. It did seem pointless hoofing it up in the first half with the little guys upfront but obviously worked better with Tom on. Elliot Romain showed some fire and could do well for us in his spell.
Ibrahim clearly showed he gets affected by the banter with the crowd so it is definitely worth getting on his case next week.
Having been to Chelmsford that was overall a spirited performance after a slow pathetic start.Nothing in it overall and with Joe and Coylie back in on NYDay lets have them at theirs.Special mention to Elliot Romain who was die hard and outstanding. .....COYW !!
Like I said no passion. Why hoof the ball upfield towards a 5ft nothing striker when we're 3-2 down and give them possession when we need to score.
We need a reaction on Monday otherwise we'll be slipping down the table and before we know it be in and around Bognor and Whitehawk.
I thought there was much more passion compared to recent weeks and the change with Bradbrook for Goldberg worked well and it meant any high balls were competed with. Romaine really good today
I know I haven't been in a good six months etc until today, so it may not be my place to say
First twenty minutes was a shambles but after that the wings took the game to Dartford. Other than a goalline clearance Dartford couldn't offer as much as welling in the second half. Just unfortunate we missed a sitter at one end and they scored a worldie at the other. Good passion shown just poor first 20/30 minutes set them back. Don't feel we deserved to lose
For the umpteenth time this season we have made a sub at half time as a consequence of failing to pick he right team in the first place. I know this will happen from time to time and it is good to try and be proactive, but the number of times it has happened is utterly ridiculous.
The decision to give Bradbrook & Goldberg starts over Pavey at the start of he season, which probably was the casue of him leaving Was highlighted more than ever today as to what a piss poor decision it was.
The defence is an utter shambles shipping goals all over the place. 12 in 4 games. Disgraceful. One goal in open play in 5 games. Shocking. Maybe an extra training session could help.
Looking at our squad and the amount of appearances they have at good sides at this level and the one above you really have to feel this squad is underachieving. It should make play off with ease. It's struggling because the defensive organisation is a shambles. And players like Pavey & E. Phipps have rotted on the bench whilst players of lesser quality have started.
Goldberg had a knee injury which is why he had to come off at half time. Bradbrook is still having problems with his hamstrings so can't do more than 45 minutes.
I thought Romain and Bradbrook played well second half. Goldberg did well first half. But defensively we didn't look good today at all. We only seem to start playing well when we go 2 goals behind. Why?
I'm not saying it wasn't a mistake to let Pavey go but hindsight is wonderful, and Bradbrook was playing better than Pavey and deserved his place ahead of him.

My god this really is a ****e tinpot league. I'll tell you what I saw out there today. One ****e team lacking in any direction and confidence losing to another ****e team who play Burman percentage ball. To be honest I thought we were only slightly ****er than they were. The difference they took their half chances we didn't. Who ever wins this crap league will come straight back down again.

Pavey has lost his starting place at Dartford to Mills.
We were awful at Chelmsford but were not today. Sadly, a slow start yet again but their goalkeeper was far more busy than ours.
I thought that Romain was very good and expect him to start scoring soon however I couldn't see beyond Dymond for Welling's best player. He was outstanding.

Not based on his performances but on his asthma which has been bad in the cold weather. He was clearly far from fully fit for us at the start of the season- perhaps because he did n't get enough minutes in pre-season.

Only due to an illness Pavey has been suffering from. After today I think he will in the starting line up next week.

Couldn't agree more with this, the top point i said weeks ago. The pavey decision is in hindsight but he should of been given more game time at the start, he was getting a few mins and the end of games which as a striker you are going to offer nothing when we struggle to get the ball forward anyway.
Again just so peeved off about how we have started the game, you cant get behind the team when its like that. The reaction from the crowd was brilliant once we got into it after a hour but it could of been like that the whole game if the players come out fighting!
Would definitely start bradbrook and romain up top at there place, then healy for either nanetti of monakana and coyle for gayle, great clearance from him today, shame it was at the wrong end!

There 1st goal is so disappointing, when the ball goes from left to right we should be pushing up and holding a line on the edge of the box.
Instead we are defending in the box and allowing them to play into it. No excuses for that in the first few mins of the game.

And if you're going to defend in the box, mark tightly.
I was clearly watching a different game to some on Tuesday...?!
I couldn't fault the effort and commitment throughout and it was never going to be a pretty game (it never is against them!) I felt we deserved a draw at the very least. All three strikers that played contributed something but I am still not sure what the best combination is. Dymond was excellent in the second half when he concentrated on kicking the ball rather than the opposition players. I have been critical of Nanetti in the past on here but he put in a good shift and was a threat but still the decision making is not as good as it could/shoul be. Despite the penalty I was disappointed with Monakana overall and, to me, he doesn't look fully fit. He is a big weapon for this team but only if he takes people on and get crosses into the box. Whoever decided that a centre half in a team that conceded three got motm had obviously had too much Christmas sherry....
The Pavey debate is an interesting one. It was a toss up whether to start the season with him or Bradbrook and, like the management team, I would have gone for the latter. He clearly wasn't happy about that and decided he wanted to go elsewhere and rather than have a possibly disruptive influence in the changing room, all parties decided it was better if he moved on. Ironically he would have got his chance a week or two later when both strikers got injured against Bath. He has done well up the road but the debate would be irrelevant had he not scored an absolute stunner on Tuesday (a shot that 99 times out of 100 would have disappeared down Park View Road...)
The main issue for me is that we are consistently giving team one (or sometimes two) goal starts and this simply can't continue. Yes we show fight and character to come back into most of these games but it is not a recipe for success in the main. The last two games we have not even come out of the traps and have been behind inside five minutes - Pugh had the freedom of PVR to put that chance away and the less said about the start at Chelmsford the better. Whatever the pre match routine is it is clearly not working and we need to be at it from minute one. We were at least as good as them in the first half on Tuesday yet we go in a goal behind?? I don't know who speaks before the game but we have a player/manager, a player/coach, an assistant manager and the other half of Right Said Fred. That is four voices and that is far too many in my book. Even if they don't speak up pre game or at half time they are all giving their two penneth along the way and, as a player, that must be mighty confusing.
Not sure what to expect on NYD but a bit of good fortune wouldn't go amiss! We shouldn't have to ask for effort and commitment as that should be a given but we can but hope that they actually come out of the traps at 3 o'clock precisely rather than five past...
Glad we are all talking the game and our team instead of the ref. He had shockers when he was in charge for the Chelmsford and Wealdstone matches but he did alright on Boxing Day. He let the game flow and no silly decisions, to my surprise.
