Listened to the game on bath radio, Mills header set up the first goal and scored the second, the commentators stated welling the better side, with Mills and L guol causing them problems all afternoon.
Well I was hoping for but not expecting a win. Bloody well done to the management and squad. Keep grinding out the wins starting with next week please. Very very pleased with this squad. Loving it so far this season
Disappointed with the reaction about this win. This is not aimed at the traveling fans who are more than likely dragging their Arses back home right now. Come on lets show some appreciation with the improvement this season. COYW.
Yep its been a great start to the season. Team has looked well balanced since pre season. Steve King has recruited really well and the players are doing themselves, the club and the fans proud. We continue to try and play the right way on the pitch and are now dangerous home or away. There will be hiccups but we must keephold of King!
There are some rather complementary comments on the bath city forum. Saying how they expected antics from us etc but we are actually just a really good side amongst other things.
Having seen my first game of the season I was very impressed. The teamwork and attitude throughout was excellent and the icing was seeing Danny Mills first goal.
Well deserved win and long may this form continue.
Tremendous result. Bath City internet radio commentary was excellent. Obviously, it serves Bath City but it was fair and quite complimentary about the Wings. I just hope we have not picked up more knocks and injuries going into the vital Cup match at Hereford. What was remarkable is that we signed Adam Coombes and he did not even get onto the pitch! Agree with a previous poster, we must do our utmost to keep hold of Steve King and his team not just for this season either.
Have to say Bath City were really welcoming yesterday, especially with their community day, with pay what you want a decent success, I've not seen 1500 at Bath City for a welling game before. Even in defeat yesterday they were gracious, fair play to them!

Thought it was a nice touch the Bath supporters applauding he Welling fans for travelling over for the game.
Excellent team effort. Although Kissock puts a shift in, he needs to be more composed.
His awareness of those around him is poor. Just needs to look up more, before he receives the ball, rather than after he has got it.
The defence put everything on the line to prevent a goal (as did the keeper).
Thought Anau who came on for the injured McCallum, done very well. Looked very comfortable on the ball and going forward.
Nice to see Mills get a goal, but he would no doubt be the first to admit it should have been a free kick for handball. His effort throughout the game certainly deserved a goal. My man of the match.
Finally, the manager needs to be applauded for his team selection. It would have been easy to throw Coombes in somewhere, but this (in my opinion) would have had an adverse effect, seeing how hard the team have worked for each other this season.
Wasn't at the Bath game but was well pleased to see/hear the final score. A clean sheet and away win against a team with the best home record in the league thus far was a great result and of course the icing on the cake with Mills getting off the mark as well. Having seen the brief highlights provided by the league a special mention to Mendy for a great tackle to prevent what looked like a certain goal at 1-0 late in the game.
I just have one concern as to how long we can continue with a squad that seems to get bigger by the week. Yes we have injuries (and lots of them at he moment) but can we just go out and sign another player every time a player gets injured?! Of course we want to sustain our position in the league that we have earned thus far but I don't want us to be spending beyond our means....
Of course a win in the Cup next weekend would bring in some much needed revenue and we also need to find ways of getting more people through the gates at PVR on a regular basis. The owner, board and manager have put together a more than decent squad here and we are playing some of our best football for a few seasons now and we need to engage more people to come through the gates and watch it!
I understand Wingnut's concern. I believe there were at least 25 names listed in the Bath programme but it appears, judging from the recent radio interview after Saturdays match, that Steve King enjoys a good relationship with MG.
Also it appears that MG plus perhaps one or two others, are prepared to support him financially in the short term when we appear to have a large number of injuries (7 ?). Providing we don't overstretch over this period and inevitably pay the penalty later in the season, I would be happy to see the current form and enjoyment continue even if it means an inflated squad. I think Steve King indicated he was happy to operate with a squad of 18 at the start of the season so would struggle to field a team had that situation occurred.
Unfortunately you have to take a risk to get a reward, with the players we have injured we could of had to field youth players or worse loan players like last season. Squad we have is fantastic and we wouldn't be in the position we are now without them.
